Cigarettes (14)

1 Name: don'tknowjustyet : 2013-12-11 20:36 ID:QBgBkl1j [Del]

I'm having issues with being independent. I'm thinking of doing cigarettes but I don't know why. I know they are bad and should never do them but why do i have this feeling of wanting to do them. I was never depressed and i have a loving family, i have no friends that pressure me to do drugs so why?

I'm in conflict because i feel i will let everyone down if i do them. they expect me to be a doctor and graduate to a high med school that i'm not sure i want to go to. It's not like they are pressuring me but i want to go on my own pace.

I want to do cigarette no because it seems cool or i want to fit in but for some reason i want to try it to try it. I guess it's almost like alcohol but you get more punishment for doing cigarettes than alcohol.

I've been thinking about it more deeply because my dad's friend dose cigarettes and she still a good person. She's not addicted to it and works hard at a farm with a loving husband and a office job.

I was always told to stay away from people that do cigarettes or alcohol but my family has friends that do cigarettes and alcohol and are never addicted to it or influence my family to do cigarettes and alcohol.

And even though i know it's bad for you body i want to do trail and error and people say to never do it because it will wreck your life anyways. But we swim in the ocean even if there is a chance of a shark attack and we eat fast even if we get a stomach ache.

I just don't know.

Also please post anything that i'm stupid because it's OBVIOUS that this decision is stupid that i should not do cigarettes. But I just need some counseling with this decision whether to do or not to do and is it ok if you do cigarettes.

>>1 you need to find a hobby, something that you love to do and for you to go after. I feel as though cigarettes might be that hobby, but I think it's the wrong kind. Take some courses in college while going for your doctorate, try things out and if you find something that you love to do then go after it! :3 experiment with healthy hobbies like literature, art, computer sciences, math, etc., etc. there's a high chance of you getting cancer with cigarettes, it's way more likely than dying by shark attack so please keep that in mind.

>>2 No. No advertising your thread, that's not how it's works here, especially if this thread has nothing to do with Durarara.

I know plenty of doctors and most of them do cigarettes.

Can we just have this be like a vices thread?
I think that would be neat but we'd probably only get like two or three people in on it.

>>5 Because being a doctor is incredibly stressful. Sometimes the benefits outweigh the negative consequences.

>>1 Let's not forget though, 1 in 2 of regular smokers die from a smoking related disease; if that isn't a dissuasion, I don't know what is. Cigarettes are not like alcohol at all, don't even try and compare them. If you're just going to do them for the sake of doing them, you're an idiot. Don't be an idiot, just leave them be.

You could try doing hookah, since it still gives that tobacco high. I also think hookah has a lot less nicotine and chemicals in it.It tastes a lot better too. I smoke hookah all the time, but I still can't smoke a cigarette without coughing a lot.

>>7 B-but...

>>9 I agree 100%. Being a doctor would be a pretty high stress job and doing cigarettes would really help me, personally, cope with said stress.

Also, OP, you could try vapes.
It's not the same or as strong doing a real cigarette, but since you haven't done cigarettes before, I think it would be more than enough for you.

You can buy them, if you're old enough, at gas stations and what not.
Though, if you're willing to spend the money, I would shop online as you can find better deals/pens/flavors.

If you're underage, don't smoke.
That's low class.

I smoke but I never did because of peer pressure. You know why they're bad, if you can take it, go ahead. Just don't do it to fit in cause that's (no offense) stupid (The decision whether you want to or not isn't really.. peace :)) ). Independence does not really lie on the vices you take. It's the responsibility and the balls to stick to the choices you make, I think... hey, not trying to tell you what to do here cause I'm pretty sure you have an idea already. Just sharin~ :D cheers!

Like Chrome said in >>11, I think that you should try vapors. There are a lot of them that don't even contain nicotine and can be sold to minors. All in all, smoking legitimate cigarettes at your age is probably not a great idea; there are a lot of problems linked to them, but more importantly, they're expensive as fuck. Every year, new taxes are added, and the price of cigarettes skyrockets. You'll have to continually downgrade to keep up with cigarettes on a reasonable budget. My mom spends, easily, a hundred dollars a week on cigarettes, and she's smoking some of the cheapest packs you can get around. It's just not worth it.

Vapors are also expensive, but they're healthier and quite a bit less expensive than regular cigarettes. Just splurge and get the nice ones ahead of time so that you're paying only a little bit for the refills instead of spending the full price to replace them once a month.

>>13 This.
Smoking is expensive.
I don't like cheap smokes so I'm paying seven bucks a pack and it's fucking insane how much that adds up to.
