So at my school, websites like the BBC and history and Tumblr, but strangelynot Twitter. This is due to teachers using it to distribute information to students, but apparently a student started a Twitter page that said a lot of bad things about students. It was found out that the student was doing this at school. So the lovely principal is blaming phones. This is somewhat annoying because you can get on a school computer and log into Twitter without a problem. Also, they want us to keep out phones off while at school and have Bern taking up or checking our phones if they are in our pockets and they can tell its there....

A worse part is how many students keep their phones on because of parents or emergencies. Now we are being forced to to keep them off or have them taken up if they even suspect us using them... It's an issue because teachers have already been breaking the rules that we were told and taking phones without warning (also they choose favorites among students, so many kids don't get their phones taken up anyways)

Any advice on what to do?

You should talk to the principal about it, how the students are bothered about it but only if it's problem for everybody, not just you and your friends. Maybe start a petition or do polls and surveys about student using cell phone.

Like for surveys, track how many people use their phones for emergencies and who use them for social networking. Or tally how many students feel uncomfortable for teachers to take/check their phones in their pockets.

Also put posters and maybe if you want to GO ALL OUT, than make a article about this issue/topic if your school has a newspaper.
