life is being born to fulfill a purpose to gain knowledge and to live happily you will have no control over said life soon enough it is short with every second that passes we are closer to death the sun closer to super nova and our world to fading from existence there is no way to stop said event we will probably die before so with the current pollution our efforts have come too late and in too small a majority try to enjoy what you currently have and work hard as i say to everyone prepare for everything and anything you never know what will happen next due to human stupidity

Scientific description, life occures somewhere between atoms and cells, that gives the ability to reproduce/replicate. Life is when an object has an organized structure, the ability to use and create energy, reproduce, being able to consume and excrete things, and move. There is no solid description (due to some living things not being able to do some of these Exp. a problem where someone cannot reproduce)

Life can be defined in many ways. For many people, they find their own and original meanings of life as they grow up and become an adult. However there is one question remaining: what is the very first meaning of our birth, when we came fresh out of our mothers' abdomen?

But even as we try to came out with some kind of answers, things that came out were more questions. Exactly 'when' does we start living? when we were born to the world, perhaps? but were we not alive in our mothers as babies who were not born?

And then we came back again to the first question: what is the meaning of life?

For me, I go a long way back. When I was eight or nine, I asked my mother. "Mom, why do you give birth to me?"

She was quiet for a long moment before replying, "I don't know. You came up, and then I simply wanted to hug you with my own two hands."

Was there any reason to begin with? But anyway, looking back now, I guess every mothers just give birth because they don't want to give up on our lives.

To me life has many meanings. The very first, is probably for us to become the proof of our father and mother's love. But from thereon we will walk on our own paths, finding ourselves. Discovering our passion, dreams, precious friends, and much later our destined one.

So, what is the ultimate meaning of life then?

The meaning of life is to live with all of our might. That is what I believe.

The life you live today,
Is the life that you live your way,
Of consequences and pain,
Of happiness and joy and wane,
A cycle of peace and strife,
That is the thing we call life.

Life is what you make if it (cliche but it is very true,) then again your life is shaped by your fate, the path you choose can be one or it can be one out of many possibilities. We all have a goal, and when this life ends and we still haven't fulfilled our goal, then we hit the "retry" button and are born again. That's my philosophy anyway :3

Can everybody stop saying life is what you make it because that is pretentious and shitty. When you say that kind of thing it implies that anybody who has a shit life only has themselves to blame. Life is ever so slightly affected by you, you are but a small file in comparison to the massive fucking drill that is circumstantial happenings. It isn't a deranged veteran's fault that conscription was introduced when he was young, it isn't a Syrian refugee's fault that two horrible factions have created a bloody conflict, it isn't the psychotically unstable person's fault that they were born into an abusive family and some might even say it isn't the sociopathic murderer's fault that they were born as a sociopathic murderer.

You can say things like that because you have very placid lives that relatively have been incredibly blessed, don't pretend like it's all you that made it happen. People saying half assed remarks like that piss me off, sure you have a small amount of authority over certain aspects of your life but largely it is up to forces that do not focus on you at all.

Fuck.

Life is just a series of events we take in and try to manipulate. Simply put, an experience, but everyone has their own views on this and that is just something we have to figure out for ourselves.

life is the opposite of death. hmmm life can be explained biologicly in which case its pretty cut and dry as to what is alive and what is dead though viruses prove an interesting topic on that note. but otherwise that's totally up to interpretation. as a genral answer life is normaly sen as anything that can reproduce, grow, has functional activity, and the ability to change...

life is anything that possesses the following characteristics:
-has DNA (or other heritable genetic material)
-can reproduce WITHOUT the aid of a different species (viruses don't count)
-needs nourishment/consumes energy
-reacts to external stimuli
-adapts to environment
i think that's about it really (might've missed somE)
