Alohaa ^^ So here goes...My art teacher at school told us about a contest that we can participate and she will send our drawings to Japan, the one who wins gets to travel there and(the hotel and stuff are paid)So give me some ideas of what to draw(the drawing must be with watercolours and obviously about Japan the teacher also told me that it would be better not to draw manga)because I really want to win..it is my dream to travel to japan so maybe tell me your ideas?!^-^ Also if you want to check out my art I have a tread in the art section called "my latest drawing" So leave your creative ideas :3

I'd draw something super original that no one has done before, simple but not too simple, complex, contrasting (so not too many colours) I hope that helps! ^^

Maybe you should draw something inspirational. Can you relate your draw to a story, or a legend? Or maybe you can draw something that will touch the jury who will judge. An inspirational message over a theme regarding Japan. ^^

Also. How big can be the canvas? This kind of information can help us to give you better advice. :3 I'm not sure if this thread should belong to here, but in any case we will help you. When is the deadline? .3.

I like the idea >>6 had. I personally would go with a landscape but that's simply because that's what I usually go with when I paint. Read up on Japanese history, legends, and myths for inspiration. If you really want to be original, read up on the traditional samurai, then try and visualize the modern version of a samurai.

If anyone has any good legends or stories or myths anything please say it cause it might give me an idea of what to do ^^

Also, Hachico is a story which begins in Tibet, so it's not really a "totally Japanese" story. ^^
Japan has a rich religion full of spirits and tormented soul, and various deities. I've got a book which is titled "Encyclopedia of Japanese Spirits" written by Shigeru Mizuki, if you can try to get this book. :3 Or, if you want, I'll look for you for some interesting story. Your choice! ^^

Damnit >.< i forgot to take a picture of it before i give it away, I'm sorry :/ but the geisha i did (which you could see in my "my latest drawing" thread) is pretty similar to it *i did 3 similar paintings so i could give the best one*
