While we are not supposed to give out personal information here, you are going to have to tell us at least a little about yourself in order for us to help you.

First of all, how old are you? We need to know your age to figure out what you can legally do.
Secondly, do you have any prior work experience?
Thirdly, how much time do you have to gather all that money?

In any case, becoming a tutor is probably your best chance at gathering enough money for your trip, whether it be a music tutor or academic tutor. You are try your luck working part time in a shop, but it will most likely take you forever to gather that much money (unless if you have a professional skill).

You can become a foreign exchange student to Japan by talking to your school about it; I'm pretty sure they should know programs. But I'm also sure it costs a lot and you need an official 2 years of Japanese language classes to do it. Best bet is taking a vacation there over the summer or waiting till your older.

>>6 Get a job. Make and sell things. Lemonade stands. To make money you're gonna have to get off the computer and DO something (unless you're a hacker). If money making was easy we all would do it, ya know?

You should think about some cheaper solutions, then. Have you checked if there are other agencies who offer a best exchange? And exactly, what are you looking for in Japan? If it is to learn the language then you should consider spending a year or two as a student there. But if it is just for curiousity then you should consider a less-lasting-longer idea! In any case, 14000$ dollars for a 16 year old boy surely are a lot of money.
