Trouble finding my place in life (4)

1 Name: Elizabeth : 2013-01-06 19:30 ID:hAHVXqq7 [Del]

Hello! I just recently found Dollars and everyone here seems so friendly. It feels great to be in such group of nice people. Anyway, I need some advice.

I am really confused in life right now. Everything is going alright as of right now but the question is what am I going to do for the rest of my life? Nothing really interests me and the things that do interest me, I don't want to turn it into my occupation in the future. All my friends already have their life planned out but I am still here unsure about my future. When I think about it, there is nothing I want to do. Money is not the issue for me. I could care less about money. I have been looking around for months but I still can't find the answer to my question. If you guys have ever been in the same situation I have, how did you find your path? Please help me, I don't know what to do with my life.

Im in my first year of highschool so i have no idea if i can comment on this subject but i have a pretty good idea of what im going to do when i get older. My grandfather died of alzheimer's when i was younger and he was my "father" because i live with my grandparent. I was angry, sad, and confused for reasons completely irrelivent to the topic. I desided to research alzheimer's when i grow up to hopefully find a "cure" so no one else has to go threw what i did. Pick something meaningful to you, whether its the planet, other people, computers, music, or whatever, and search for jobs that would help to improve that.

I'm pretty much the same.
I have 'skills' and a hobby or two, but I really have no idea what I'm going to do with my life. The few things that I think I might enjoy doing are generally outside of my abilities, or not realistic careers or anything.
I don't have actual interests in anything, which is a real problem when it comes to this sort of thing. All of my friends have got their things sorted; they're joining the navy, studying law, going to teachers' college etcetera, and then there's me. They're all so passionate about things. I simply don't have that drive and it's really making all the decision-making people expect you to do at this age incredibly difficult.
(and yes, I know this is an incredibly old thread, I got bored and went scrolling)
