Hello fellow Dollars,

I'm having a bit of trouble and thought that the bright minds of the Dollars could help me out. I'm currently 19 (20 in a few months) and attending a local community college. I have no idea what I want to do with my life... I chose 'multimedia business' from a list of majors because it sounded the most intriguing to me. But I have no idea what I want to do for a living after school. Some of the occupations I have come up with are a bit farfetched and unrealistic when I actually sit down and think about it. A few of my stupid ideas include: Starting my own clothing business (mostly men's jackets, outerwear) but start up costs and the economy are suggesting a failure. I was also interested in going into animation, but I have no idea how any of that stuff works (I'm taking a Flash class next semester to learn more).

So I was just wondering if there were any other occupations that would be similar but more realistic? I feel like I have no plan for my future and it's kind of scary. I don't want to work in a run of the mill cubicle job for my whole life. I want to do something I enjoy, but I just don't know what the possibilities are.

Anyways, thanks in advance Dollars!

It really is all on you. If you are still unsure about this, then the only other thing you can do is go out there and explore the world! Try new things! And definitely don't limit yourself to the classroom. Sure, you may find things that suggest failure, but you'll never know until you try! So, even though I can't give you suggestions on what to do with your life, I can tell you that even if you have a plan, it probably won't go exactly as you plan. Don't let this discourage you though! ^_^ Good luck!

I recently had to write a paper on those in the "entitlement generation." Basically as the name suggests, those of the generations born after 1972 is apart of it. We are those go getters who were fed positive reinforcement like air.
We don't back down and we all way to change the world and move on to bigger and better things.
If you start at a desk job don't fret use that time as saving time where you can acquire the funds to do what you really want like make a clothing store. All you have to do to make that happen is just believe and take risks!
You're entitled to a good life, go for it.
