Nobody cares about anyone (9)

Do people care for what others think? Or do they just pretend that they do?
I felt that people didn't care what i say so ive being living caring for whatever sh*t other people care about. I pretend all the time,
so my question is to those who have their life together and have care free lives. Do people care about what you think? Do you say things that you think others care about?
Thanks for hearing...

Well I know I care about what others think, but those others are only those close to me, otherwise no I don't care.

Do others care what I think or say....perhaps I've no way of knowing, even if they do respond it doesn't make it definite that they 'care'.

Who knows, maybe I trust them, they wouldn't be close to me otherwise after all.

I think in this day and age, it's easy to forget that the people that walk by you are conscious and have thoughts and family's and feelings. When you quit conversing with someone, they leave and you forget about them. Maybe you think about the conversation and replay it to retain important details, but it's over with. But they do the same thing as you. You stop being a person, and are instead an event or interaction. A small one in the course of a long day.
Bottom line, I think the attitude among humans is due to the fact that it's hard to see others as living breathing entities.
I work at a hospital, and frequently forget that my patients are suffering. It's easy to see them as just another task in my day.
I try to keep this in mind when dealing with them lately, and it helps to think that I could be in their exact position. I try to remember this when at school or running errands as well.
Sorry. Long, poorly-structured thought process.

You guys, if i am allowed to say it, are fucking amazing. Sound like Philosophers man. I thought i was going to get like mindless-quick-unthoughtful-angerfilled answer. Rayven, you answered directly and truthfully, and you Somatic, i loved how you use facts and personal experience to explain your idea. Thanks, and here you have this imaginary cookies as a gift *gives cookies*.

All that college grade philosophy and psychology ;)
But I hope it helped a bit. I agree with Rayven, that even if someone SAYS they care that there's no way of actually proving it or knowing. At some point, when someone says they care you just need to accept it.
I'd rather be trusting and happy than skeptical and unhappy.

People may seem to pretend to care simply to save face; however, in the grand scheme of things, we are all so preoccupied with our daily lives that a simple interaction with a random stranger is, as was stated before, just that -- an interaction.

That answer, in the end, can be subjective; but in trying to look from an objective viewpoint, I think that it's important to try and glean a piece of reality from everybody's eyes. In that way, you may come to understand them a little bit more.

In short, if you care, they will as well.

People generally listen and care for what I have to say mainly because I'm everyone's friend/psychiatrist/counselor. When it comes to others, I generally only care if it's serious. If someone just needs a reciever to pass a Hail Mary size rant, I'm usually half listening only because its drama and everybody deals with and in a week they'll be just fine and everything goes back to normal.
