Do you have reasoning for loving them? or do you like them because of something you can't place. If someone truly loves someone its because of a deep reason that usually couldn't be explained to another person. if you truly love someone you'll have a real reason to why you do. ask yourself Why, and give 3 GOOD answers to it.

There is a fine line between the two. When you love someone you want to be with that person all the time and blah blah blah. And the same goes for if you are obsessed, but there is a difference. If you love that person you do things for the one you love for their benefit, not for yours. SO if you love them then you are willing to sit back and watch the person you love be happy with or without you. Their happiness is top priority. For example: If a guy is in love with a girl then he will bend over backwards to make sure she's happy even if she's happiest when she has nothing to do with that guy. Obsession is wanting that person for the sake of wanting the person. If the girl hates your guts, you will still be persistent in trying to make her like you. Obsession is seen in lust fueled relationships. When people get over jealous, or stalk people or whatever, that is obsession.

Perhaps love is a type of obsession? You think about the person a lot of the time. If you truly love them you have a deep connection or attraction to that person. (Not THAT kind of attraction more like a magnet.) Or perhaps there is a thin line between the two. The question is when you've crossed it into obsession.
Also, I had to post that picture. I thought of it immediately when I found this thread. If you find yourself making a memorial to that person you've crossed the line into obsession. XD Or what people would call obsession.

Love is more understanding and realistic than obsession, or infatuation. When you love someone, you understand that they will let you down and they cannot always be perfect. When you are infatuated, you sort of believe your beloved is all good, and when they mess up you forgive them for "being human". But that's not really how it works. Obsession makes you oblivious.
