As the title says, I need help to comfort a friend. Her boyfriend broke up with her today after promising not to before. I don't know what went wrong, they looked good a couple together, but seems that I was wrong. I'm really worried for her, she cuts and I really don't want her to though, but after today she might just do it. I want to help her really badly but I don't know what to do. Please, can someone help?

I'm not really experienced in this area, since most of my friends are not prone to cutting, but I'll share with you what I think you should do. Be there for her, and make her feel loved and all that. Support her and all that.

I have online friends that cut, so first, ask your friend to promise to not cut herself. Let her know you're there for her, let her talk about her problems, try sharing experiences she can relate to, maybe, and just tell her you're there to help her out. There's not much else you can do.

Thank you all for the tips, but there's another problem. What do I do if she won't talk to me? She was crying the other day and I'm not sure if it's about the break up or something else. I tried to get her to talk about it but she ignored me, but she did talk to her closer friend.

It's been a week, during that time, her class have been in an excursion to the city but she didn't go. She told me today that she thought a week from it might help but it hasn't. We usually spend breaks at school with a group of people, mostly her age level, including her ex. So, right now she's feeling left out because her best friend, also another one we hang out with, is close to him.
I really want to help her through this, but I don't know how to. She feels that the whole group is neglecting her, I said maybe that they're giving her time alone, but she who knows them better, said that they're not like that.
I really don't know what to do, can someone please help? Or even give me their opinion on this?

I think she needs a mixture of someone listening to all her pent up emotions and fun distractions to cheer her up while keeping her mind off how lonely she feels. Try getting some friends who won't remind her constantly together and go see a movie, play a board game, or go to a fair or something. If she brings it up or it seems appropriate you can talk about the break up, but don't constantly ask if she's okay.

What do I do if she tells me to leave her alone?

I'm not sure how, but find a way to be with her without being oppressing. It sounds like it's risky to leave her alone, but overly being with her might only make it worse. I'm sorry I don't know more, stay strong.
