An hour isn't that bad. By long distance usually people mean something like 3 hours or more.

Being far apart from each other is just a handicap. It makes a relationship more likely to fail. That doesn't necessarily mean it will.

Well...I would go for it. I'm in a long distance relationship with someone in a completely different state...She is supposed to be coming back...Yet, I deal with everything. Anyway, personally, I would go for it.

One hour can you guys probaly easily overcome. You guys can meet up halfways to each other and hang out if you want to. 30 min of a trip for both of you to seach each other, that's simple.
If you like him and he likes you go for it.
I do not believe the distance will be an obstacle for you guys if you truly want to meet each other. Having a little distance might cause your relation ship to be deeper rather then decaying it.

Sorry for writing twice I forgot to mention a thing.
Surely he asked you out knowing the distance between you two?
Even if it would cause trouble, which it shouldn't, take it as a sign of him needing you.

I'd say go for it, simply because this isn't THAT long of a distance. If you like each other, then I see no point not to go for it. You can chat, and sometimes even meet, since you're only an hour away from each other.
