ok i need some help. my father and stepmother are very religious my dad was never religious when he was with my mother but his wife is religious and every summer i fly from newfoundland (where i live with my mother) to Ontario (where my dad lives) i am in Ontario now and i want to tell my dad that i do not believe in god and i am converting religions. but i am afraid to because no matter what his wife says my dad will go along with it and i know she will not agree with my decision to convert. i want them to know though because its hell for me whenever i visit my dad, when i am in Ontario i am not aloud to watch anime, to her it is evil. as a kid i was not aloud to watch certain shows because it was 'satin trying to pull children in' anyway i need help on how i can say it to them because when it comes to family im not the most assertive person. i need a way to get them to under stand i dont belive in god and tell them i want to convert. help? advise?

Honestly, your dad and stepmom will probably just dismiss this as a phase and try even harder to get you into religion. If they aren't the type to take a kid/teenager seriously, then you should probably keep quiet and suffer through it while with them. If they don't take your decision seriously then they'll just try harder to get you to "behave". If you think you can get them to take you seriously then plan your arguments ahead of time. Explain exactly why you feel the way you do. Tell them you respect their religion and aren't trying to convert them. Stay calm, don't get emotional, and tell them about the new religion you're planning on converting to.
