This is a crazy world we live in. Today, my church class had a discussion on society. What are some of your opinions of the world today...the society we live in? Think about these: enforcement and instillation of values of today's youth, people going behind the law, the exposure of violence to children, the rise of young parents, poverty, etc.

The goverment people (in the U.S.) are mostly doing thingd for their self apearance and of their party, or ticket.
not for the common good.
But i dont like talking about it.

enforcement and instillation of values of today's youth:
ought to be the work of the parents since the family is the first classroom and them our first teachers.

people going behind the law:
personal interest overcoming the common good

the exposure of violence to children:
has always been a problem. not all children are sheltered from violence.

the rise of young parents:
children maturing way too fast and yet still not mature. you get what i'm saying?

poverty:
unequal distribution of wealth due to the stupidity of some and the aggression of others

When it comes to the youth of the world, it depends on the country they are from and the generation they are in. I don't think that there's one "good" way to spend your youth. Everyone has a preference. The current generation isn't that bad drug-wise compared to the last, but when it comes to gun violence (particularly in America), the access has gotten greater and the resulting conditions worse. Appreciation for education in the top countries has gone down, but on the other hand, education itself has gone down all over the world. It doesn't hold the same importance.

Education is horrid right now. I can really only speak for America, so that's all I'll speak for. Everything is so focused on 'grades' that what you actually learn isn't accounted for. Standardized tests are considered more important than actually useful material. Rather than try to make kids interested in school, schools are making rules for teaching ridiculous so teachers can't even shine through into their classes. All that teachers can worry about anymore is getting you ready for standardized tests and being there enough to get a decent paycheck.

When it comes to people going behind the law, I don't consider it that big of a deal. Why? Becuase the law has gotten out of hand. I can't feel much sympathy with either side. If you break the law, suck up to the consequences. If you make a stupid law and everybody breaks it, suck it up - you've got no right to complain anymore.

With the exposure of violence to children, it's not that big of a deal, either. Children have been exposed to violence for a long time. We went through a few generations where we shielded our children, but now, there's not much you can do about it. Violence is part of the world. As another part of the world, it's necessary for them to be exposed to it at some point.

And, no, the rise of young parents is not that big of a deal. It was only for a couple hundred years that we had an issue with young parents. We're just going back to a system that was natural. Why do you think girls start getting their periods so young? Because that's when they're able to give birth. That's the time when the female human is ready to start having children. It's not that unusual for a teenager to have kids. They may not be able to take care of them, but that's only because everybody shuns them for being pregnant teenagers instead of sitting them down and explaining what they need to do.

Poverty isn't new, either, and there's not much we can do to help it until the governments of the world work themselves back up into something semi-stable.

The permissive society of today is really a troubling one for me...we live in a society where losing your phone is more dramatic than losing your virginity.....we need a new 'enlightenment'

>>5 it's not just generation or area they were raised, it is how they are raised, what friends they make, what they have give into, every time they triped or fell, its every thing that has happend, and it also just how they are made that judges who they are.
I have a Twin brother and we hang out alot and we are in some of the same classes, but we couldnt be anymore diffrent, except how we look alike (Other than hair, Build, Scars, Ect.)

You have no idea how bad the education is in America. My freshman class in highschool was known as "The Class of the Failing Freshman." Yeah, we got that title. Not something I'm really proud of, but seeing as how I have my diploma I'm glad I wasn't a part of that crowd.

We live in a very bad world, in many respects. There's not a lot that can be done, for 2 reasons: 1) Not only is this nearly impossible, but most people just can't be arsed to try and change teh wold for the better. 2) We're too deep down the gutter already. But don't despair, my friends. This is the way mankind works. Even though the world we live in is bad, we won't really give a damn 'cause it still looks like a normal world. While there's humans, there will always be hate, disputes, wars, persecutions, crime,... It's coded, if you will, into the human DNA to have negative and selfish or egoïstic emotions. That can't be changed. All we can do is really enjoy the few good things that are left. As hypocritical as it sounds, the world isn't as bad as you think.
