recently, i began an online friendship, it was nice.. a person to talk to. someone to hear you out and vice versa. we would text each other everyday but never call because he had a speech impediment. one day as i was walking through the mall, i noticed he had called me. so i called back.... and the girl standing next to me in line, answered her phone. it took a while for it to click. i thought it was the wrong person but no. she had made up a lie. All the photos, all the attributes. All the diseases of cancer, aids, all made up.She purposely lead me and others on. saying she loved people she never met, promised to meet others actually sick children and feigning illness, possibly now even deaths of others, in order to get the attention My question for you all, is why? why would anyone fake a life to that extent.....and what do i do now that ive lost a friend that wasnt even real?

Why do people do it? A number of reasons. Narcissism, a longing for acceptance in the world, pathological lying perhaps? Histrionic Personality Disorder is common among the general popular. Ever heard of the word 'exaggeration'? Well that's the tip of the iceberg. Human are social animals. They'll do whatever it takes to become close to another. Even if that means blatantly lying. As for now what do you do? Well it should be obvious isn't it? Move on. This won't be the last liar you'll ever meet. Hell, you could be lying about this entire event and decided to post it on here just to see what kind of reaction you would get. Now, I'm not accusing you of anything, I'm merely trying to make a point. You have to see through the smoke a mirrors and decide for yourself what is true and what is false.
