Anger and scarring with it (14)

1 Name: Kohae : 2012-07-17 18:41 ID:iFhVnAC0 [Del]

Ok,I'm going to start out by saying I have horrible anger issues.
During this one rage fit I blacked out,and apparently hurt someone I really care about.Whatever I did it made her terrified to be around me and now she won't even talk or look at me.To me she was the person who could always calm me down and keep me from getting aggravated an whatever I did made her hate me.
I finally calmed down and asked one of my friends what happened. He told me what happened wasn't as bad as shes making it out to be,but he won't tell me what I did!
Fuck,I feel like a monster for doing whatever I did to her and I've tried to apologize, but I can't get near her without her freaking out.
I'm taking some medicine to stop the blackouts and calm me down a bit,but she still won't talk to me and everyone else is looking at me like I'm a murderer or something. What can I do?

I agree with >>2 You should really try to work things out, it seems like she was important to you, so you don't want to lose that :3 Try talking to people, so get a hobby that relaxes you. Working with animals really helps teach people to be more gentle, so I would try that :) Anyways I just hope you know I'm rooting for you, and really hope that things get better :3 *Joins the hug*

Sounds to me like you would never intentionally hurt someone you care about. Maybe try music to calm you down. Play a song in your head if you don't have an MP3 player.

Yo~ Hello there Kohae. I'm kind of in the same situation as you are except it involves pretty much everybody fearing me. But, I feel your pain on this one because I too am trying to deal with severe anger issues and I even have a thread on here that talks about it. I've hurt a lot of people and I don't want to do it anymore. Anyways, you did this unintentionally and you are very sorry for it. Try thinking of a few calming things or so. Like, just block yourself out from the world and go to your own little world or something like that. Or, maybe even run. I gotta say I'm no expert in explaining what to do because I'm learning myself, but I hope that maybe this helped a little. And if you want, you can look at my thread for some suggestions too if you want. As for your friend, I hope things get better with you guys.

Again, I ask for someone to quote my thing on the Dopamine Reward System. If one of you fellow people would be so kind, that can go anywhere that has "anger" or "depression" in it.

If nobody does it for me, then I'll just do it myself. I think I'm going to make a site where I can keep all of the stuff I'm copy/pasting so that it's more easily accessible.

There's a process in your brain called the Dopamine reward system. If you didn't know, Dopamine is the main of the four hormones in the brain that I call "happy hormones" and it is the only one that's only purpose is to make you happy.

There are several things that cause a release in Dopamine. This is how the Dopamine reward system starts. When you do something that releases dopamine, your mood improves. Things that cause this are exercise, chocolate, looking at someone with a proportional face (basically someone that's hot), or smiling. I'm sure there's more, but those are the only things that I've been told.

When I say exercise, I don't mean actually lifting weights or running. While this does also help, it could be anything. Go play tag with a friend. Go take a jog with your dog. While your active, it counts. This also helps because it improves your body shape, which makes you feel better about yourself. It also just leaves you too exhausted to give a fuck by the end of the day.

Eating chocolate releases dopamine, but I don't have much else to say about it. I guess that's why girls like chocolate when they're depressed.

Looking at someone that's hot helps when you make eye contact. Why this works? Your brain must be rewarding you for catching the attention of a hot person. This is why people stare at hot people.

Smiling helps a lot. It's also the easiest to do when you can't do the others. The more you smile, the more dopamine released, the happier you are, and the cycle goes on.

I haven't heard this with the Dopamine reward system, but it's proven that people with pets live longer happier lives. You feel accomplished. It helps to feel unconditionally loved by your pet. I've seen people cheer up at the cite of a cute cat or dog or whatever. Cute animals helps.

My advice? Get a dog and run with it twice a day. IT's good for the dog and you. Get one from the shelter. These dogs will love you unconditionally because you literally just saved them from a hell hole. Then you're active and you have the cute pet for double dopamine. When you're at school or something, then you just smile. It feels weird at first to smile when your not happy, but it helps pretty quickly. Try to smile, laugh, or listen to a good joke. If you have a hard time smiling for no reason, then try to find a good joke to make you laugh.
