Iam going out with this guy,who is 7 years older then me.he kept on asking me out and tell me that he loves me.I felt sorry for him since he was in a depressing state,with family and financial problems.and since he was one of my closest friend. I thought by going out with him would cheer him up a bit.but after 2 weeks he said he truly loved me but I only see him as my closest friend and like an older brother.

I know I shouldn't have go out with him out of pity and he's just gonna get hurt even more but he was in a really depressing state that I couldn't bear to see him like that anymore.

He has serious issues and you should get out now. Get him help.

I am trying to break up with him,but he sent me a card the other day which sounded like a proposal saying " I love you,I will be there for you and I will find you".I was shocked and kind of felt weird since we're 7 years apart and it kind of feel like he's obsessed with me.like a stalker really.

He has severe depression issues. From personal experience, people who are depressed feel uneasy with change. Any change big or small could tip the scale. You need to talk to him or his parents about possible help. You also need to, as gently as possible, day that you care a lot for him, but not in the same way he cares for you. Tell him that you more see him as a brother.

Another thing to keep in mind, is that he never should have made the decision to ask you out when he was depressed. Depressed people tend to cling and make hasty decisions. That's why I won't decide to go out with anyone until I get over my depression. They tend to feel that they need someone there and cling to whatever they can get.

you could also just tell him that you both need time apart to think about it. I honestly think that he hasn't thought this through. Just give it a break and see how he feels when he's not so desperate. Wait until his financial status levels off and he cheers up. Dating will no cheer him up and you're a fucking idiot for thinking so and deciding to date someone who wasn't in the right state of mind. Yes, I do considered depression an altered state of mind. It alters people's perceptions and causes them to make decisions without thinking.

I know,I am an idiot and I regretted going out with him but what's been done has been done.but lately I think he's cheered up and his financial problems are clearing up.so I want to break up with him as soon as possible so I won't drag him along and before he loves me even more.

Here's something simple-ish if you don't want to marry him you have to tell him O^O weird ironic stuff happens like that all the tme. What would you rather do, tell him how you really feel about him now, or tell him when he's on one knee with a ring in his hand expecting a yes O-O... Comes down to logic

The worst thing is that my mum found out and she said to break up with him as soon as possible before she tells my dad.more reasons to break up with him.

How about "This isn't working out, I'm breaking up with you.", hmm? Something simple and to the point. Because it's irrelevant if you don't want to hurt him. Because he'll get that way no matter what you do. Put it nicely, and hope he doesn't start bawling his eyes out.
