Okay, So i kinda have a problem. My problem is, well... That i have been severely depressed because one of my good friends moved away. We used to hang out all the time and talk about personal stuff in our lives to each other, Me and Her even went out with each other but ended up badly, so we stayed in the friend zone. but anyway ive been depressed because she left and i really dont have a close bond with anyone else, like i did with her. so i need to figure out how to get over this...

Having a phone number or some means of communication with her is good, but maybe try joining a club or a group of some sort as well. This might sound really cliche, but if you join a club with people with like interests, there's a chance you might just make some really good friends. You don't have to end your friendship with her (as it sounds like she can't just be replaced), but if you make a few new friends, it'll be easier to recove AND you'll have a new strength as well.

I don't know if you need more advices but like the rest said keep contact with Facebook/internet or via phone. Distance is just a new trial for your bonds so don't take it with the bad way, try to keep chatting as much as you can ( example of Kida in the anime ) and ofcourse try to meet new people in order to not feel lonely or at the base case some of them will be the same interesting as your friend. Cheer up and have fun with your life.

Yeah um what they said, dude im in a completely different country from all my friends, take this time to branch out as I did, never be shy shyness is the enemy of influence. If they are true friends when you get a time to hangout even years from now it would be like nothing changed, thats how it was after i went back home after 3 years of studying internationally

When My friends moved away, We made a pact to meet up in Chicago again after we graduate.

i know how you feel. it's tough man. my one real friend went back to Russia. we can't see each other anymore but we keep in touch through facebook.
