How do you take down a troll?
The reason pertains to one of my friends, who has been harassed by one in particular who has it out for her,
Bottom line: I want to take down the troll, but i don't want to do something reckless and make the situation worse, which is why I am asking anyone here who has a say in the matter.
Please help me figure out what to do.

ANYWAYS! So, there a few things you can do.
1. Ignore. But that can make it worse.
2. Troll back, but that can make it worse
3. Tell them that you are in love with them and start stalking them :3 that normally works well. They will run so fast! >_> become saika for a few days.

@☭Maru-Kai㊈ its beyond the point where it can be ignored and i'm asking how I can fight it back.
@Erika I don't know if laughter will work, this has been progressing for months and finally erupted today.
@BarabiSama I am sorry for misplacing the thread, I was thinking very rashly.
The specifics is a long story, so ill just start with the bottom line, again.
A troll has been harassing my friend and I want to take him/her down. Me and my friend, as well as the troll play a mass online multiplayer game known as Monster Hunter Tri, due to privacy reasons i wont give their names.
The troll has been having it out for my friend for months and finally lashed out at her, spreading rumors all over many of the rooms of this game.
So, I am asking, really, how do you take a troll down?

You could just ignore the troll... I mean really, it's the internet. There's no reason to get so worked up. Take a step back, and put things in perspective. This is actually not a big deal since it's not like you work with them or something.
