The Official Class Schedules Thread (42)

1 Name: MKOLLER !YYk5m0jo12 : 2012-05-29 19:49 ID:GLR96g3B [Del]

I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up by anyone, but it could be great fun and helpful too. And since a lot of people here are students, it's perfect! Basically, this thread can be used to boast about what classes you'll be taking next year/semester/term/quarter/etc. People can also meet others taking similar classes and get tutoring help this way.

I'll start. I'll be taking a summer session, and I also registered for my fall classes. They are:

Summer
WRI227 - Technical Report Writing
MATH341 - Linear Algebra I
MATH361 - Statistical Methods I

Fall
HIST224 - Technology and the Ancient World
GME161 - Plane Surveying I
BUS226 - Business Law
GME241 - Boundary Law

>>2 I kind of like it in Personal since it's school/personal-life related, but it doesn't technically fit in with the board description :O I dunno.

Well, why not?

I'll have AP Language and AP History on an AB schedule, AP Psych and AP Statistics on an AB schedule, Field Biology year round and Band year round.

>>8 That's a lot of science. Do any of those have labs to them? If so, you're going to be hating life.

I still have to take the second half of my Chinese course this summer before finally starting senior year this fall at my high school, but I know most of my class schedule will be:
AP Psychology
AP Literature and Composition
AP Calculus
Chinese 2 A & B
Anatomy and Physiology
Physics B
Government and Economics
and some other elective (possibly Digital Photography or Guitar).

11 Name: Sieg !VSW15zIyWo : 2012-05-29 23:50 ID:sJsdlkFT [Del]

>>9 All of them are 3 hour classes so yes labs. In brighter news this is over half my premed req's in one go. Plus I love science so its not like I will hate it that much.

Apologies for the double post mouspad freaked out and I hit reply early

I took care of most of my math last semester as well as the only other English class I need. My scholarship is full ride for the first year so I figure take the winter semester to work through the area I am not as good in and the summer to speed through the area I excel in and I'll still have a full ride for one more semester meaning I can grab medschool and get rid of the more costly area of schooling. It's not nearly as bad as it sounds, its quite easy to be honest.

I'm not totally sure what classes I'll get for next year, but I'll probably have:

AP Calc AB
AP European History
Honors English
Honors Chemistry
Physics
US History and Government
Japanese 2
Health 1
Creative Writing

>>7, actually, yes. How'd you know?

15 Name: MKOLLER !YYk5m0jo12 : 2012-05-30 17:04 ID:GLR96g3B [Del]

>>14 Psych and Field Bio. You need field Bio for A&P, and most medical majors require a psych component.

I like to have all honors, so my schedule isn't that interesting. All the interesting classes are CP since they're not required.

1. Pre-Calculus-H
2. English III-H
3. Phsyics I-H
4. American History I-H (I have to fight with my guidance counselor to get honors in this one. I flunked this year and will have to retake it unless I get a B+ on the final, which I won't.)
5. Computer Science Vocational Technical Program (<-two year, half day, every day program that takes place in its own private facility for free. I get two semesters worth of college credits for the two years, and my math and English requirements are also filled thanks to taking math/English there once a week).

Also, the CS-VoTech program doesn't have any homework. It's just a lot of in-class work, and all the tests are Open-Google. (Sort of like an open notebook quiz, except it's open internet, instead.) The professor says programmers often have to look things up and check to see what is current and that it wouldn't be realistic if he gave us tests and assumed we would remember everything.

I may or may not have Gym; I might be able to work some magic with my guidance counselor to just take health and then swap out the other part of the year for personal finance, which I need for my graduation requirements. I'll probably have to go with the Option Two program, though, where you do physical fitness outside of school. I just have to get the local gym to sign off on it; found one with a $10/month membership. That, my friends, I can actually afford.

Lunch is to be brought with you and eaten on the bus to the facility if you have VoTech (first time I've heard any teacher suggest bringing food on a bus). I lived without lunch this year, though, so I should be fine.

It sucks that I can't take French III-H or Advanced Art III. Those were my favorite electives ;^; I can keep practicing both of them at home, though, so I'll live. I've learned just about everything there is to learn grammar wise for French up to imparfait conjugating, so it's just a matter of practicing fluency and advanced sentence forming.

>>15, the funny thing is, I'm mostly doing Field Bio because the teacher is amazing and I want a science class and Psych was more of a fluke. I needed something to pair up with AP Stats and since it's virtual program I knew it would fit, plus it just sounded interesting.

This course examines aspects of sexuality from a cross-cultural viewpoint and traces the development of an individual's sexuality and sexual identity. Sexual anatomy and functioning, gender roles and the interplay of behavior and sexual ethics are discussed."
