I've always been a fan of the slap stick styled humor Ever since I was a kid. I grew up with Looney Toons so it was a common thing to see something terrible happen to the main character, then he would get back up and then cue the laughter. Even know, I'll see gifs online of people slipping and landing in an awkward way and never seeing them get back up. It just loops the funny part.

Just know I saw something that made me feel a little disgusted in myself. You know the window commercials where the window is so clean that the birds fly into it and gets up like "Wooh, What was that." Well, I saw that in real life action. I was just walking to work when out of nowhere a bird zoomed past me, right into the second story window next to me. I did laugh with the thoughts of "Wooh! Did I really just see a bird do that" then I stopped as I looked on the ground and saw what really happens after the slap stick humor I have been a fan of for 22 year was in front of me...the poor thing was twitching...It was dying and I had just laughed at its final moments.

I'm not all teary eyed or like "Poor animal, How evil is this world" but I’m left with a somber feeling. Like, I'm not sure I'll be able to get as much laughter in my life, cause now I worry I'll see the truth after the funny and that terrifies me now.

A lot of people laugh at the holocaust. Feeling bad laughing at a bird hitting a window shouldnt make you feel bad.. Expecially if you didnt think it would die. Relax, bro.

I know I'm probably over reacting, I admit that...And I might have been a bit spoiled in that this is the first time I have seen something die like that in front of me(cept for bugs...I crush those suckers)

I really needed to get it off my chest cause I know if I were to bring it up with the people I know, they bring up stuff from my past and add this to the joke pile...

Well, its good that you feel safe to say these things anonymously. And, death is always sad, weiher it be a person or a bird. But you shouldnt feel guilty about it if you didnt know. If you were laughing because you knew it would die, THAT you should feel guilty about. But you didnt know.. SO dont feel too bad.

>>1 The difference between the bird, and slapstick comedy, is that nobody in the slapstick comedy ever gets seriously hurt, which is why it's funny. If the characters had died, it wouldn't have been funny.

Hunny, dying is part of life. That is quite tragic you had to see something like that in real life, and I mean that's why slap stick humor is only in cartoons and movies; in real life it's just like how you experience.
Pray for the poor thing to find peace and let it free from your mind.

I read the title, and immediately began humming "Ripped Pants" By Spongebob Squarepants. Sorry about the bird, though. I'd have laughed as well.
