>>9 That anime character inspired a main character in my book, named Thom, but he's different from Izaya in many ways and a lot more of a jackass.
The main reason why I'm replying is to say this. I get into the brain of my characters when I write, so I tend to act like them more for a few hours, days, or even weeks when I take a break from writing. When I write and Thom's involved, yea I act like him. Not many people like me for it. You should know that acting like any character will make people like you less. No matter is, well unless it's a goody-good character. That'll just lead you to being used. Either way, most characters have a complex that makes them seem amazing in the anime, book, movie, etc. That's not the real world though. People don't react the same to these characters as they would in the real world. Sure they look cool and all with all of these people liking them, but that would never happen in the real world.
By the way, I don't even remembering anyone liking Izaya in the anime. The only reason why people worked with him is because they wanted something.
Look at it this way. The characters Sasuke and Gaara from "Naruto" look cool don't they? I know I've always wanted to be like them, but in the real world the smartass attitude won't fly.
