Are you trying to make friends? If so, just treat a girl like you would your other friends- don't be sexist or creepy. Speaking as a girl, I've had plenty of people be jerkfaces to me by being sexist idiots and others that have stalked me around school, so it's important you act right. I can answer more questions, if needed

Relax, girl's really aren't that different from guys, and we're way more fun to be around. Just be yourself, don't be sexist, and chances are, girls will see you for the good qualities you choose to show them :)

Okay if you're having trouble with girls in general then my suggestion is to avoid acting like a jerk. Whether you want a girl to be your friend or more than a friend it's always important that you act nicely to them. However, don't be too polite either. Be loose and have a little fun. Now there is a difference between wanting a girl to be your friend and wanting a girl to be your girlfriend. If you want to be friends, then be fun and don't be afraid to make a few sexist jokes, so long as you don't go too far and as long as it is known that you're only joking around and not being serious. If you want to a girlfriend, then be honest with them. Talk about fun things as well as troubles either one of you might have. Be a gentleman towards her and always listen and pay attention as to what she says. I hope this helps.

Just treat girls like you would your guy friends, as mentioned earlier. Although you may want to avoid the sexist and disgusting jokes, unless you enjoy getting kicked where it hurts... Oh yeah, and don't use the word "b****" in any form, unless you really enjoy getting punched.

Also, I find sexist and disgusting jokes really funny. Just don't make them sound serious. Plus, you have to understand the girl and figure out what kinds of jokes she does/doesn't like by trying them out. If she doesn't like them, avoid them. If she doesn't mind them, use them periodically. If she likes them, use them. Simple as that.

Talk to girls that have similar interests to you, first. Because it's less awkward since you have something to talk about, and it's a good starting point.
DO NOT act creepy (following girls around, asking weird questions, asking them out too soon, etc.) because that is probably the worst thing you can do if you want to make ladyfriends. (Friend, lover, or whatever else)
Be yourself, loosen up, and girls will talk to you :)

Yeah, don't follow girls around, or stare at them for long periods of time. They will think you are a creeper or stalker. I've had two guys do that to me, and one guy nearly followed me into the locker room. That's no way to make friends, but it is useful for making enemies.

Confidence always attracts the opposite gender, just the right amount. Don't be overconfident because they'll consider you cocky. Be yourself, because that way you'll find a girl that likes you for you!

There really shouldn't be any trouble getting along with the fairer sex. It's not like they're really any different in the end. Treat them like you would anyone else in your life. You'll find yourself sharing in a laugh or twenty in the end. I can tell, because when I met a friend of mine for the first time, introduced by another friend that she had come down to see, I had come to visit specifically to meet her. Ironically I had visited on the same day as another friend. Said other friend, male like me, was kinda... stiff. Not in the way that some perverts might think, but just... well it was obvious he wasn't used to her. He tried acting like it was some kind of competition between me and him to see who she liked better, and was therefore trying to make himself the center of attention. My approach was vastly different. I just treated her like she'd always been there, a part of the group and a good friend. Needless to say, if it HAD been a competition to see which of us she liked better, I was the winner, according to her.
