Okay well first off I guess I'll just say it my life isn't nearly as bad as most people but still I'm hurting. This girl I'm crazily in love with and have been for a long time shattered my heart. She's an amazing girl and I started liking her last year during my school's production of Footloose where we danced together in the finale prom scene and we've been friends for a long time now and I've always been there for her whenever she's needed me. She's been through a lot her father is violent with her and her sisters sometimes and I've tried to talk to her about talking to someone about it but all three deny it when that gets brought up. I've seen her date guys that hurt her in the end and this year she finally broke up with the terrible guy she was with but also she sorta cheated on him with this guy that she had a major crush on for a long time and I know he was just taking advantage of her and now she's with another guy that she has been friends with for awhile. Just seeing them together kills me and she said the only reason she didn't say yes to me after how I told her how I felt is because she feels our friendship is too important to take any risk losing. Not only that but one of my close friends this other girl and I became a lot closer after we vented to each other about our problems mine being the first girl hers involving her medical condition and her father possibly leaving her and her mother. She however is also with a guy but he's a total asshole who makes her cry all the time but she makes the excuse "you don't know how he is when it's just me and him he's so special and romantic." The real kicker is the first girl was with the asshole to. I just don't know what I should I want to be there for both and I feel something with both but it kills me being just friends with either.

But seriously, shit goes south when you wait too long to confess. Like, after your confession to the first girl, i doubt your relationship will still be the same. As for the second girl, I'd tell her your feelings before its too late, lest it be the same situation.
Also, you should just kill the guy they both dated.

No girl likes being told her boyfriend is an a**, but she's lucky to have you looking out for her. My idea is to remind her that no guy should EVER be an a**hole, and that isn't normal in a relationship. And the other test I propose to see if she likes you is to hug her. See how long it takes for her I pull away. If it's over a few seconds, then that's generally a good sign she likes you. But when hugging her, don't bring up the boyfriend. You will get yourself physically assaulted because she got offended.
