I have a friend. He is so hard-headed and won't listen to anything I said to him. I want him to change his way of thinking. He seems like he doesn't have a care in the world.

Example : "That is not my problem, whether many people will die or anything, we can't do anything about it."

He looks at people as someone that would just use him and then leave him when they were done. He said everyone is like that, and by that statement, I got hurted. Why did he think like that? What am I, or his friends for, if he said it like that?

His way of thinking somehow saddened me. He seems so lonely and I want to support him. His mother leave him and his family when he was young, I think that is one of the reason. But, even with that, I want him to know that there is still people that would love him. Not just using him, but will stay and won't leave him alone.

I don't know but maybe I also have a small feelings toward him. That's why I want him to know that I can be there for him, but I'm unable to say that, I somehow get scared. I feel like I want to slap him for thinking like that. But when I want to scolds him, I got afraid that he would think I'm nosy, or get angry at me. I want to spill out my minds and make him understand. But my every way of thinking is just too contrast with him.

Now he had a problem and are going to end it in a wrong way.

I don't know what to say. So, what should I do..? I don't want our friendship to break, but I don't want him to screw himself. Or do you think I should just be brave and told him, even though our relationship as friend might get broken?

(Sorry that I post a personal problem again, even though my other thread is not too long ago. I feel like I'm just telling problems here. xP)

Hmm, sounds like he's emotionally enclosed for the outside world. He doesn't want to show you or anyone that he's in fact sad.
Whatever you do, and this is just an advice. Stay by his side, you don't have to literally stand by his side 24 hours a day but let him know that you're for him and that he can rely on you whenever he needs to. Also don't feel sad by his thoughts about people. He doesn't realize what he says. Be a good friend and help him out of this situation.

I will, but I wonder if he would notice that he can rely on me. Because I am younger than him (for just one year), and we can rarely meet each other. We chat everyday on internet though.

Ah, also... don't be too cheerful sometimes, out of experience I know that sometimes if you act always cheerful it annoys or bothers your friend. You need to handle things calmly, you'll see in the end he'll open up more.

Sit with him through everything I would guess.

He sounds like a lonely person. I have/had that way of thinking, but I understand why he says what he says. You can try to prove to him that the world isn't such a bad place. (ha) But he just might be a hopeless case. I'll be honest, he might have a very strong opinion on this that can't be changed even by a face to face talk with god himself. But have faith in him, and do your best to show him you, and everyone else that may be close cares about him. He needs to see that.

What's your gender? The reason I ask is because if you are a girl, he may not trust you enough.
