Do you believe life is predetermined, that its ruled by choice(Bad luck/good luck), or karma?

We have free will. What's the point if everything is planned? And I say there's some karma in there too. Sometimes life just comes back around and bites people in the ass.

Well, idk, Id like to think all the bad things in life happen for a reason.

I believe in the fates. I believe that you can choose to do what you wish, but there will always be a higher power pulling the strings. Things happen for a reason. And all your actions and choices decide how things will end. One misstep or bad choice can change your life drastically. Everything is balanced. You do something bad, something bad will happen to you. You help someone out or do them a kindness, something good will happen to you.
And I believe I am not making sense and havn't answered the question correctly..........

I believe it is a mixture of both. When you are born, you have a planned set out for both sides. As you grow up and are faced with options, a fate is predetermined for the actions you choose. Not sure if that makes any sense or not...

I believe,as Alchemist said, that you do have a plan when you're born, but it can either get f*cked up by both your choices and others;or you can make the best of it,be happy, make good choices and no matter what others do, your life will be better.

To me, karma has a strong hold on all of our lives. Do good things, and good things will happen to you. However, if you do those good actions expecting to get noticed or rewarded, you will receive little to no benevolent results. To answer the original question, though, I don't think life is predetermined. I did when I was little but now I have my doubts. I think that, from birth, you are open to all possibilities for your future. How you actually get to your own future is completely up to the actions and choices you make throughout your life.

This is just my standpoint on this topic. I could be way off lol.

I believe that we control our own paths, but there's a little bit of karma, everything we do will comeback to us somehow. And I also think that sometimes the gods send us a little help, so we are not completely alone in all this.

I think its a mix of everything. When we were born... there's already this "unknown" predestined plan of our lives. I also believe in this Free will. Free will allows us to have choices - thus life giving us options how to react and respond to situations that come before us everyday (what we eat, wear, skip class, etc). I agree with >>9 Kunar's view on Karma. Do good deeds for the sake of it being good, but not for the sake of being rewarded.

If we lived through our whole life making choices (good or bad), it would have gone according to that of the "unknown plan." Howeever, nothing forced us to follow one direction or the other (free will).

My view is kind of complicated, hope it made sense XD

Okay, reading this is starting to kind of confuse me about people's beliefs but here I go again. This reflects only MY personal opinion. I'm not trying to say people are wrong because I'm willing to admit that I might be completely wrong myself.
I don't believe there really is a plan. I don't think things happen for a reason. I believe that all the fucked up stuff in the world just happens. We aren't powerless to change it. If we want to change things and we have the resources and talents to do so then we can. At the same time if we do nothing to stop (or help along) events then they will continue to run the course they have been set upon.
I do believe in Karma. When you do bad things then bad things will eventually catch up with you. Even if nothing happens in this life something bad will eventually get you. If you are good then you will be rewarded. I don't believe Karma falls under "the plan" because every action decides the reaction. It's not planned, it's simply caused.

Existence is predetermined, and begun. However, once the ball sets down the hill, it begins to roll of its own accord with no help from the one who pushed it initially.

Now, i dont believe in god, but i do belive, well not denie, that there may be a spirtal force that interacts with us ever day.

I believe in more of the web thing I learned in school. Its like you have free will but each choice you make will take you in one direction. Its almost like you select your destiny.

Karma. No doubt in my mind.

A life can only be pre-determined if that person chooses it to be. We have the full potential to steer ourselves in a direction regardless of what may come our way.

Some of us, like myself, have chosen to stay adrift in life, floating on a whim and a prayer. I let chance steer me, while others steer chance.

Our hapiness, fate and whatever comes from the person themselves, it comes form their choices, that is my opinion, in other words, it isn't predetermined.

I believe in Karma differently than some people. Say......If a certain person acts like an asshole to everyone, He will be treated like one. If you live in a life of crime, you'll get caught someday. If you're a friendly, outgoing person who treats everyone with respect, than you will naturally attract good people to you. Generally the way you act around people decides the outcome of their opinion of you.

No, i don't believe life is predetermined but, i do believe life is ruled by choice. The choices you make now set you up for different paths you can possibly take later on in life.

i beleive that luck is something that people can change with certain things that they do and karma comes to those that deserve it. Also, i think that life is not predetermined because you make a different choice everyday and so do another 7 billion people. Also, the number of lives in the world are constantly changing and with each new life, something new forms. Therefore, it would be impossible for a predestined life due to events that no one should be able to predict.

Oh looky mommy! Fun! Toys! I just LOVE spreading my beliefs and seeds that cause people agony and makes them think I'm pessimistic. Have you ever seen "The Adjustment Bureau?" I'm a strong believer in Christianity, but I'm going over a series of videos that summarize the bible. It makes God look like The Adjustment Bureau. I believe that everything is predetermined and destiny and fate. Why? You live my life and you'll see. Living every day I feel like I'm not the one controlling my life. Looking back on my life, I feel like I had no control over it. I didn't. There is always SOMETHING that pointed me in a direction and told me what to do. So, what do I do? I've learned that not doing what I'm told causes my life to fail fast. It also causes me to control other people. I can't do anything because I can't control my life. I CAN use the knowledge I've gained through doing as my life leads to control OTHER people. Everyone has plans. These plans get sewn together to make the blanket called life. MY plans and I am the scissors that cut that blanket up and ruin it. I make it my life goal to change destiny. I do whatever is in my power to make my own destiny. Cliche I know.

Why do I see destiny? I have ideas in my head. How can I explain this? In my head it's just an idea, you know? It looks fantasy and all that, but I've found that it parallels my life. Not my PAST but my FUTURE. Any idea in my head at any given moment can parallel what will happen in my future. There are always gaps, and unknown information. Usually the unknown information is the important stuff that prevent me from doing anything to change it. For instance, names, ages, times. Not only that but facts are blended with fantasy. Days are run together. It can't really be READ until it comes true. That's when it makes sense. The reason why I fight it is because not all of my "ideas" are good. I can't tell what's real from what's fake, and most of my ideas are negative. I have to fight my own mind to see anything positive. It scares me. Not having control, the chance of having a negative life and not controlling it. I give you an example, but it's hard to do. That to me, is the equivalent of someone walking up to you and saying, so tell me about your life. That's hard. You don't know where to begin or end. It's everything and nothing at the same time. There's no real way to give a serious and detailed answer. Not only that, but I have dejavu moments. I am in the middle of something and I swear it's happened before. It's not just everyday tasks. There'll be a brand new son on the radio, and I'll just be singing along. I'll make a comment to my friend, "This is an old song." They'll look at me weird and say, "This song just came out last week." On top of that, I've had dreams come true.

How do I fight it? I fight off my "Ideas" as I've said before. If I catch a dejavu moment, or an idea coming true, I change it. I do anything in my power to change it. If I see something going on that wasn't caused by me, I change it. That is part of why I'm here. I can't change it on my own. If I don't want these things to come true, things need to change in the world. For the better of course.

Thats a Hard one. I Think that its karma. Or People that just think like... If this person Do this he/she will be a better person. But thats just me.

HI believe in karma for the most part- what goes around comes around, you know? But I think that all religions strive for the same thing- love, peace, happiness, order. So organized religion just puts faces to beliefs. Life is based on the choices you make.

I believe in nothing! I understand that anything could apply, exist and whatever else.

I believe all 3... depends on how my day started. At work, luck would be my major factor there, so would school. Predetermined would be interactions with people close to me. Karma would be for some sort of events during the day.

I believe that life is already writted for us but it doesn't matter because we don't know it. That, or life only predetermines the small things.
