So, I have this friend, Carolina, and, well, she's made me very confused about everything. So, can someone please help?
okay,so, Carolina is my "best friend", but, there's really so many things wrong with calling her that. There is about one reason i have to like her-she's funny.the reason we became friends was because she saw me reading a manga.I've never really had a best friend before, so I don't know how it works exactly.
she's rude. she doesn't give a shit about me.she curses like a maniac.she's self-centered.She loves to bitch about her life even though it's basically perfect.she only likes screamo bands that aren't even good.she's emo for no reason.she thinks she's better than everyone else. She teases me constantly.
so, what i'm wondering is, why do I like her?
why do I love the little game of "master" and "servant" we put up?
why do i not mind when she guilt's me into wasting my money on her?
Why do I care so much for someone who doesn't care about me at all?
Sometimes I think about how much she's changed me, probably for the worse, I think about all the things she's put me through, everything she's done to me.She's done so many things to me,because of her, I don't understand myself at all anymore.so, can someone please tell me what to do? I don't want to lose her.

I see a few questions here, so I'll open with this:

Masochism: The enjoyment of physical or mental pain/torture, unrequited obedience, etc.

Some people just enjoy that side of things. I'm fairly certain I'm subconsciously that way, but that's a story for another time.

If she's making your life worse-off, to the point where it could cause long-term damage, cut ties and watch her fall on her own. There's no point in staying on a sinking ship.

These days people aim to be extroverted and stubborn, and are often 'entitled' whiny little bitches. She sounds exactly like that. Therefore, if she continues like this, she will stay that way until she winds up on the streets. And even then, I can't guarantee she'll change...

Really, she just sounds like a poor friend to me. Find someone else. Easier said than done, I know, but you can't really complain until you try.

And if I hear so much as ONE word about how you "already have" within 24 hours, I will refuse belief. I will accept that answer only after a two week period; Plenty enough time to make at least a potential-best-friend.

Go find people with similar interests though. People with similar interests are usually VERY accepting of others like them.

Its exactly because you havent had a "best friend" before that youre allowing this.
What I think is that since shes the closest thing you have to a best friend (that is not how a best friend acts towards you, so i cant say she is one) that you dont want to "lose" her. I say you should just let her go before it gets too late, if anything, maybe you should try to change her into a better person, if she reacts badly to that there is nothing more you can do for her, just let her be.
That is my advice to you XP
