>>3 The kid looks fearful, threats don't have to be verbal.
>>2 Secondly, the military was found to have used illegal weaponry to quell the 'supposed terrorists'.
Thirdly there have been politicians in India calling for the death of Muslims. And you only need to look to the groups there which chant for it. Look further and recently in *Melbourne* Indian protests held had some protesters calling for death on these people in wake of the Kashmiri rebellion/ terrorist attacks. Imagine how stronger the message is back at home. You can try to deny it but like how white-supremacy is taking rise in the US thanks to Donald Trump's subliminal and sometimes outspoken messages, the same thing is happening in India.
Fourthly I did not say a genocide has started. That's what you're assuming.
Fifthly, even if there was a 'terrorist threat', it is the most highly militarized state in the *world*, with more than 500k soldiers there atm. How many soldiers do they think they need in such a small area? This is stamping on people's liberties and rights for safety, stability and movement. Quite clearly not much of that is there especially with curfews.
Sixthly, India has refused any negotiation or forms of mediation to reach a middle ground for both Kashmir and India. ON TOP OF THAT cutting off internet and landlines for all residents. And that's the scary fact, because no one in the world after this point can see what is or isn't happening. If this is all for economic purposes, I don't see what there is to hide. You're probably going to say they cut communications so that there's no 'terrorists plotting together' but your point is as good as mine, it depends on what other factors we can see. And I see people with greed and hatred, like history has shown time and time again.
