Kameha Con Outrage (7)

1 Name: IMMA DOLLAR : 2019-03-23 15:03 ID:8nkzR1E0 [Del]

Yesterday evening Kameha Con announced that they would be having Vic Mignogna the Con despite the allegations against him. For those who don't know he was accused of the sexual harassment of his fans. There are many fans of his who are happy that he will be attending, but just the same there are those who loathe the idea. The pressure of the entire endeavor has made the creator of Kameha Con say that he wanted to cancel the con altogether, or at the very least not hold it next year.

This post is not to villify Vic or Kameha con for their actions, but to pose a question. I am a fairly neutral party, I don't have an undying love for Vic Mignogna nor will I ignore the possibility that the allegations are true. The only question that I have, is this. In the case that he didn't in fact do what he was accused of, is it right that we are ruining his life, his career, and his entire name. On top of that, not only putting the pressure on Vic himself, but crushing the few moderates who are even willing to associate with him. Such as Hawaii con who are also allowing Vic to continue to participate in their con.

Its not even as if Vic was proven to have done these things, you couldn't sue Vic with the information we have on the allegations. My problem here isnt with this issue in particular, but with the fact that our society is acting like judge, jury, and executioner. Often on issues that are too loose to be tried in a courtroom. This kind of mob-mentality mindset is the sort of disastrous thinking that causes things to fall apart. Our government is set up the way it is to protect people from incorrect allegations, so shouldn't we let them do their job?

Those who hate on Kameha Con call them shady for allowing Vic back in before the Con, when many fans were too committed to going, having already put their money into it. However, what I think some people don't understand is that when a voice actor signs onto a Con, he or she has to sign a contract, stating their own commitment to come and such. This deal goes both ways, suddenly out of nowhere, this man has lost his job, and then even more attendances at cons, many of which he had probably been making plans to go to for months. Just as a fan has to find a flight, and hotel room when they go to cons, Vic does too. He's human just like everyone else here. So the fact that Kameha Con made good on a legal promise, makes them more honorable than anything else. The fact that it doesn't particularly matter that Vic was accused of these things, but they have a legal promise to uphold, it means that they have integrity to go forward even when they knew what the reaction could be, even though they knew that they might lose customers.

Kameha Con isn't saying that sexual harassment is alright, they are not endorsing Vic in any particular way, they just had the courage to do the right thing and stick with their contract. Even if the contract wasn't legally binding, by asking Vic to attend before all this happened, its an oral contract, that many cons were quick to break.

Think what you want about Vic, but to the people who are delusional enough to blame Kameha Con for simply allowing Vic to come. Take a step back, and think about it for a minute, this isn't about the morality of sexual harassment, please don't pin the people running the Con as people who endorse that because they aren't.

I'm open to everyone's views on Vic, and I think that its wonderful that people are willing to stand for what they believe in, whatever side that you're on. Whether you full heatedly believe that he's the monster that everyone says that he is, or a firm believer that hes entirely innocent. Or if you're not sure what to think, like I am.

I just want everyone to think about what I've said, if it still doesn't change your mind then that is perfectly fine. Just seriously put yourself in Kameha Con's shoes, or even Vic's.

Just think that on the off-chance that he didn't do it, how would everything that's happening to him make you feel, if it were you. Thank you all for listening to me. I really hope that I didn't offend anyone with this post. Have a wonderful day!

So I was originally at the con where this happened. And everything that is happening is wrong. He was hugging the girl his arm was on her shoulders his hand laying on her upper armand his other arm his side. He didn't do anything that people has been saying and in truth those who went against him and said all those bad things without knowing anything should be very ashamed of what they had done. I seen the girl and she even said nothing has happened. So not only are you messing with vic life it messing with the girl as will.

People should be ashamed and I on his side.

If I'm correct this was at liberty city con

Allegations are one thing, but unless Vic is convicted in court I see no reason to withhold him from appearing at Kahema Con. I am not a huge fan of Vic's either, but there are many stories of men across the country who have lost their jobs due to false accusations, even if they were not found guilty in the end. The truth is, there is a huge problem we need to face if an accusation is all it takes to ruin someone's career, and at times, their life. If there is enough evidence provided to the court that they find Vic guilty, then he will be put behind bars. But until then, there is absolutely no reason to prevent him from appearing at Kahema Con.

Thank you everyone for being understanding! I was honestly afraid that I was going to be bombarded with hateful comments from the KickVic side of things. I’ve seen it happen on other social media platforms. This community is great and I’m glad that we have a place where we can safely discuss matters like this one. >>5 I entirely agree with this, we need to let people be convinced before we fire them for possible actions. It’s also true that it has happened to many others as well, that’s a large reason that I wanted to bring the issue up. I don’t know how but this sort of mentality needs to be changed.
