You see, it was proposed this February to make D.C. a state. Here's a quote from U.S. News, "The Washington, D.C. Admission Act – legislation that would make the district the 51st state in the United States" Check out the article! I personally think its a stretch to make a single city its own state but people are using the old "Taxation with out Representation" as a rally call. There seems to be quite a bit of fuss over this, there is even protests/rallies for it. It seems to be pushed by the Democrats but Republicans seem to be against it. One of the biggest reasons for argument seems to be population from what I can pick up. What are your opinions?
