As a token Catholic in a mostly-Muslim extended family, I absolutely agree with you, because said extended family are nice guys par excellence. For all I know with Trump's claim is that Steve Bannon is behind it, and we all know how... Passionate the guy is about his biases against Islam.

Not every muslim is a terrorist, but it is completely true that the increase of violent crime in europe is because of muslim immigrants.
The thing is as much as you wanna preach tolerance,religion in general is violent by it's nature, especially islam. Christianity had been declawed, but you can't really do that to a religion where every 3 paragraphs is talking about how evil and worthy of death nonbelievers are.
