Pink Dot (PG) (a movement supporting LGBT) Singapore is starting on the 1st July at Hong Lim park, the only venue where people can demonstrate in SG. Unlike previous years, this year the government has decided that the event can only be attended by locals and PRs ONLY. Meaning no foreigners are allowed to partake in the event. Besides that, the government has barred foreign companies from sponsoring PG 2017, these companies include Microsoft, Google and Apple. In addition to that, to make sure that only locals and PRs attend the event, a barricade will be erected in the park, something that is new this year.
The government's argument is that "As a government, we don’t take a position for or against Pink Dot, but we do take a position against foreign involvement,” . “The point is this is a matter for Singaporeans, Singapore companies, Singapore entities to discuss.”
Any Singaporean Dollars here? What do u guys think? Would u want to support PG? Why?
