From Texas. It was bad for a bit last night.
So I get off work at midnight, and by the time I left work it was sprinkling. Well, a few months back some friends and I drove a mile out of town when there was back-to-back lightning and no rain, and we parked on the side of the road where there were no lights from the city, and just watched the lightning cause it was actually kind of beautiful. I decided to do this again by myself, maybe sit and listen to music. I was thinking about "Thunderstruck" by ACDC cause...well, you get the joke.
Any-who, I'm a mile out of town, rain was light but there was a lot of lightning in the sky and I just sat and watched for fun. My phone suddenly starts getting back to back messages, and it's my girlfriend. She sent me: "DO NOT DRIVE HOME. THERE IS A TORNADO WARNING. DO NOT DRIVE HOME IN THIS."
I'm like "What the hell?"
I suddenly got another one: "Me and Cooper are in the tub with a comforter. Just find somewhere, stay at work, go to your mom's, just don't drive home in this."
Cooper is our dog, by the way.
As I'm sitting there thinking it's not that bad outside, that's when the tornado warning came in on my phone, and the wind picked up.
I drove to my mom's house cause it was closer. I had little to no visibility when I was driving. I'm glad I didn't crash. I don't think I'm gonna go storm chasing for a while.
