Essentially, people have been jumping all over some extremists and blaming the whole group. This happened about 15 miles from my house. I do have to warn you, the video that goes along with the article is a bit graphic.

Here's the thing, blm, from what I know, dkesnt have membership cards or anything. It's lIke the dollars, where anyone can say they're jn and it has as much water. If they dint want tk get blamed for the fringe rasists, like the kidnappers, they need official memberships. Because j agree with the idea of black lives mayter but jts people like these kidnappers that make me sick.

BLM is not an organization like the dollars, they are a group of protesters who all believe in the same thing. No matter what group you are in, there is always going to be those group of oddballs. You can not blame the group for the acts of 4. That would be like saying all dollars are murders because a small group of 3 killed a boy.

That is more like stereotyping in a sense. I think that these four individuals lost their minds and should be punished. It is clear the the BLM had nothing to do with the crime and should be left out of the whole ordeal.

But that was me just throwing in my own two cent

I guess one can say that it is good that you don't believe in racism but that doesn't mean it isn't a very real concept. People are cruel just because one is slightly different than themselves. If you have different skin/hair/eyes/facial structure/etc you have the chance of being outcasted and attacked. The same goes for non-race things.

That being said, I don't think it is anything like political propaganda. Racism is something the people created long ago. It might have started as propaganda to get people on the bandwagon but it has certain evolved into something more than that.

Yes, I agree with what you are saying.

Racism is when you judge an entire group of people based off one person, but where I don't agree with you in where you call it political propaganda. As of modern times, no political group/government is outright promoting such acts. The definition of propaganda is: "information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view."

While it may seem like some parties are promoting such acts, that is just how we are intercepting ones words.

But, I can say it's a good thing that you hate one not because of looks but because of personality. But not everyone can say the same. The reason racism currently exists today, is because of the social norms which have been created long before any of us where born. Many many generations down.

I think you picking and choosing which race of people to hate, is very much a personal preference. One decides to hate these groups because they find something that all may or may not have in common and decide to try to use that against them. Simply put, stereotyping.

>>3 No, Naga's post was pretty on point on that note. The BLM movement isn't a centralized organization. While the creators of the main website / merch do their best to reel things in, it's ultimately many separate groups run by individuals. This has caused issues in the past (with multiple groups "claiming" the same area, then arguing about who's "more official").

The ideals and intentions--or at least, the nuances regarding what behavior is/isn't considered appropriate--vary wildly depending on the group as a result of this set up. Every organizer has their own idea about what's okay.

That's why criticizing the BLM movement as a whole doesn't help. Criticism of the organizers for not being more clear about their ideals is, though, and they've really beefed up their site with more specific information to defend themselves against these issues recently. But the damage has already been done in that there will be groups dedicated to calling themselves BLM who are fighting for their own interpretation.

So yeah, I agree, just wanted to clarify naga's point.
