Pence is different -- he thinks the gov't has the right to step into women's and LGBT+ matters, and he's been proving how accurate that train of thought is over they years he's been in office.
Take an actual look at the bills he's passed and/or has tried to pass throughout his (even recent) time as a politician; it's not a pretty picture. He's much more threatening than Trump as far as internal politics go.
