okay i do watch x-men however i don't know much about the comics and original stories etc and what this storyline might be based off. I also haven't seen the new movie yet. As x-men is action and has fighting scenes i can see that this could be an important scene in the movie (especially if the fight between mystique (the girl) and Apocalypse(?), who is supposed to be the villain in this movie, could have some kind of significance?) which is the only scenario i'll accept really, but as it is yeah i don't think they should be using that image to advertise as much as they have. considering there are undoubtedly many other awesome shots they could have used, picking this one does give a bad message.

>>3 If they're going to protest because it's bad advertisement, then say so instead of accusing sexism and other things, don'tcha think? As for me, I think it's fine. Not too gaudy, but simple and easy to understand image. Kinda refreshing.
Too be honest I think that actress just wants some kind of attention and decides to lead this protest get the eyes of people to look at her or she is just really simple minded either way I think its not a wrong picture.
I think it's less "promotes" and more "normalizes", but I think that's what most people really mean when they say "promotes" in these cases. I mean, a woman in an ad is being choked with barely anything showing it's negative around it (her expression in the promotional picture vs. the actual scene is...a weird choice at least). Also I think people tend to react in a "this causes this" way, rather than "this plus this plus this is a pretty sure way to encourage this behavior", which is harmful to both sides of the argument
