Rape is never and should never be thought as being the girls'/womans' fault.
No i dont know anything about your country or the case,
However as an individual in a country where this has happened,
I can say that going and seeking help shouldnt be met with any hostilities or a view that does blame the victim.
Seeking and punishing the rapist should be priority number one
But some countrys do not pursue this same view, they take the case and allow it to go cold (had example/will post later)
Or they half-ass prosecution and allow him to walk or gives him the minimum sentence.
The only clear way to combat this is peaceful protest of your government/police or group(s) that do not protect females against rape. Bring the issue up throughout your entire community, your entire town via pamphlets or posted notices, organize 'neighbourhod watches' to patrol.
Now sometimes it boils down to it being a sick fuck who gets pleasure from the act, unless someone is there to help, it'll happen.
Disgusting acts of human degradation are apparent everywhere, problems like this happen, it takes the collective to change social behaviour, and it deffinetly will not happen overnight.
if only half of your country is sick after these events, what does that say of the other half?
They agree? Or are so desensitized that they no longer care about society? Are they realists that recognize the futility of mass publication of these events?
>>5 'should be doing more than usual'
Like what? Im a half a world away, yet the UN has a worldwide presence, they're probably on this exact issue.
>>6 yea i do, 2014/ or 2015 a young woman attending a university in my city was approached late at night, attacked, and raped, the media had highlighted her mode of dress was provocative, implying she was at fault. If i remember correctly the assailant was never caught, but there were moves made to increase security in high risk areas.
A month after wards, another rape, on the other side of town.
Again opinion changes nothing, action does.
