Refugees are humans, if you look at the crying face of children and their moms, it's hard to say no. That being said, allowing them to stay in large numbers WILL erode European culture (an argument that gets you to be called bigots, apparently).
Allowing refugees to stay might bring happiness for both parties, but how long will that happiness last? This question is a taboo too.
And I don't think people ever start to ask why wars are continuously fought in Syria and whether it's a collective responsibility of the citizens, refugees included (can you blame the victims?) or something else.
