Probably because it comes as no surprise when there are terrorist attacks in the Middle East. Sure, terrorist attacks in Israel are less common than, say, in Iraq, but it's still in the Middle East, and that's probably why it doesn't make "big news." They blow each other up all the time in the Middle East.
Terrorist attacks on the Western world (i.e., northern Europe and the USA) however, are not that common, so it's big news and it's shocking.
Not saying it isn't horrible even if the terrorist attacks are in the Middle East, but that's their own war there.
