Most of the news reports lately have been of unfortunate stories so I hope this inspires some of you guys.
Minu Pauline is the owner of a restaurant in Kochi, India. She was shocked when she found out that the homeless people would go around finding leftover food from restaurants' trash cans. This made her realize how much food she herself and other people have been wasting.
When she opened another restaurant in a different area, she installed a fully functional fridge outside. She, her customers and the community she was in would put their leftover food inside for the homeless people to take from. The fridge is accessible 24/7 and is nicknamed "nanma maram", which means the tree of goodness.

My hope in humanity is partially restored with stories like these. Though I suppose there are a lot of these things going on around, it's just that they're not in the news as often as the depressing stuff.
