On monday evening, a student from Fairmont High in Ohio was killed in what seemed to be a drug related shootout. Another man in his 20s died in the same incident.

The greater tragedy is that due to it being likely drug related is my school has practically refused to acknowledge him as having been a student. This morning students tried to enter the courtyard during advisory to have a moment of silence and the principals shut it down before anyone could even pay one moment.

If you have a school news/announcements show, maybe convince them to fit a moment of silence at the end of the program?

@Karuna oh wow I knew that some kids were trying to have a moment of silence, but I didn't know the principals shut it down 0_0. We talked about it briefly in my second class, but that was about it

A similar thing happened in my school district a kid got stabbed to death and one of the school wouldn't give him a moment of silence because he was a "thug". There was a walkout in that school and eventually the district decided to give him a moment.

My god, so much violence....
