Shashi Sharma, a pizza delivery man and an EIT student was robbed by a few 16 and 17 year olds, including two girls while delivering pizza. The victim was beaten by rocks during the robbery and said he could've died with one more hit.
The attack took place as he went to a property in Milton Rd late on Friday night with four pizzas worth $42. During the attack that followed, as the attackers emerged from hiding in a driveway, he was struck on the head and one of the girls attempted to run him over with his own car, which was then stolen, along with his phone and the pizzas. Mr Sharma found two people in the street who were able to call the police and an ambulance.
Police were soon able to find the vehicle in Hastings. It was in a slightly damaged condition. Mr Sharma's phone was recovered, but its data had been deleted.
Similar incidents have occured in the past, one of the victims was even killed.
