Despite protest, the City of Montreal is going ahead with its plan to dump 8 billion litres of wastewater into the St. Lawrence river. The dumping started at midnight last night and will continue for the next seven days. According to the city, the dump is necessary in order to make repairs and changes on the current sewer system. The project is part of construction work on the Bonaventure Expressway.

I live on the Saint Lawrence river, and I think it's sad that they are ruining the river I live by.
