Critically acclaimed animation studio, Manglobe, filed for bankruptcy on September 29th, following the visible decrease in budget for their ongoing series Gangsta. Manglobe Studio is known for taking risks in putting out some of the new millennium's more artistic animes such as Samurai Champloo, Ergo Proxy, Michiko to Hatchin, The World God Only Knows, Deadman Wonderland, Karneval, and The House of Five Leaves.
No! NO! Nooooo! There's no gangsta season 2?No more samurai Champloo? No!These guys were amazing! They were involved with the making of Durarara , baccano , Black Butler book of circus ,Naratu, holy crap! That's a lot of animes .Oh , and there's also this video that I wanted to share , that's related to this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AHo-_XEV6E
We as fans are probably the main reason for studios and such like Manglobe going downhill. What a lot of people do these days is just watch anime on stream sites instead of actually buying their products in a way that will actually benefit and reward them for their hard work.
I completely agree Nemo. But we cant exactly be blamed for watching for free when it's available vs paying for DVD's. I'm sure the receive royalties from sites like netflix, crunchyroll, etc. but there are too many other sites that are free. YHe problem lies in the lack of a real world-wide government. there are too many sites with servers in too many countries. there is no way to press charges against them. in the end all they can do is attempt to attack the end user like they did back in the days of napster, kazza, and just like they keep trying to do with torrent sites such as piratebay. the end user isn't nearly as at fault as the provider but the providers are much better protected legally and at times protected by borders.
If a man set up a stall on the street full of apples with a sign that said "free take one" and the apples turned out to be stolen from a grocery store you wouldn't blame the people who ate the apples. you'd blame the man who took them and set up the stand. in this case it's rarely possible.

Comes down to this Too many competitors Not enough market (lack of interest?) Besides it's hard for anime culture to spread that much outside japan
Can't say I'm suprised honestly........ they never commit and finish any series, in fact they are notorious for that. I would've loved a continuation on Deadman Wonderland, but they never planned on continuing that :| oh well
