This is truly a depressing situation. I hope we can help them rebuild their nation as well as their lives. May God bless all of them.

In order for us to really make a difference, how about we all chip in say about a dollar and see where that leads? Maybe we could raise a few thousands for the sake of hundreds.. Don't you agree?

Bump

This is very important... lots of the refugees are coming to my country (Spain) because, really, it's a terrible situation. They come hoping to find a better life but our gobernment does NOTHING to help them and media manipulates us telling they only come for money and other stupid stuff...

Maybe donating money to a NGO which helps in Syria would be nice... but, I don't know, this situation really need to be stopped... We can't close our eyes and pretend they don't exist, that is not the solution... mmmmmm, I'll have to think.

I guess the only solution is beating ISIS eh.

Or countries like the US, Canada, Australia could take some of the load off of Europe instead of waging a ghost war against an enemy that the western countries incidentally created for them. Anyways, ISIS isn't the only thread for syrians who don't agree with their ways. Currently there's a 4 front war going on there. The solution would be to offer them help, aerial transportation, shelter food etc.

>>7 Thing is about Australia is they wont let people in, unless you have one of two things, one being a skilled worker i,e with a good education, or two have a good deal of money, that's why they let people who are retired with a good deal of money stay there because they wont have to relay on the state for money.

I know a story from a few months ago that some refugees where trying to get into Australia by boat and the Australian navy stopped them so then the refugees set fire to their own boat but the Australian navy did nothing because it was their own fault for setting their own boat on fire.

that's messed up

Why can't we just offer those vacant vast land masses to these refugees to help them? The world is so big so why not share it? I know countries have their own policies and rules regarding refugees and stuff but what we're talking here is a part of nation or at least of humanity. Giving donations is a good idea but the question is who would initiate it? And would you trust someone here to give your money to somebody else?

14 Name: Onion Lust : 2015-09-09 23:00 ID:SlLeK+/p [Del]

True but like what vacant areas? Like the deserts places in Africa, oh I know abandoned cities left for no reasons maybe they can be replenished for them that's a good idea. Also why not build floating land masses off the shores or in lakes that would also be a good place for the refugees, the only problem with that is the population size and the cost to do that and finding an organization willing to do that.

>>11 What you're talking about is the migration policy of the country, but with refugees it's a little different. According to the Global refugee convention (http://www.unhcr.org/4ec262df9.html), which has also been signed by Australia, they would have had no right to do that. It's a collective responsibility, and that's the point.

>>13 We can try. You can take a look at this petition for example:
https://secure.avaaz.org/en/petition/United_Nations_Create_Venus_Project_Type_Towns_For_The_Homeless_and_Refugees/?pv=4
And before you start criticizing it, at least sign it guys, it won't hurt anybody to type in your mail adress and click on the send button (I don't mean you #13 in particular, but everyone who takes a peek)

>>14 UN, EU they seem like pretty vast organizations to me. The US government is also a vast organization, but they like to spend money on invading other countries and killing people for profit reasons instead. There's also crowdfunding. Actually there are endless possibilities for helping these people, you just have to look around.
