Hilllary Clinton For President? (37)

1 Name: Blank : 2015-06-13 12:47 ID:ZR1ixQHT [Del]

Hello everyone! :D ,

so Hillary Clinton has made a lot of noise about her running for president

NEW YORK — Hillary Clinton launched her presidential campaign in earnest Saturday with a speech and rally in a setting that evokes a revered Democratic past as much as — if not more than — the party's desired future.

In her remarks, she invoked achievements of Democratic presidents, including another Clinton, and slammed the "new voices" in the Republican field who were "singing the same old song, a song called Yesterday."

Clinton discussed the struggles that many Americans still face and growing income inequality. She said everyday Americans had to question when their work would pay off.

"I say now," the Democratic frontrunner said.

"Americans can't succeed unless you succeed." she said. "That is why I am running for president of the United States."

She joked that there were younger candidates in the race, while also noting the history-making potential of her candidacy.

"I may not be the youngest candidate in this race, but I will be the youngest woman president in the history of the United States," she said

Clinton spoke to supporters on an island in the East River named for Franklin D. Roosevelt, architect of a political coalition whose demise Democrats have been mourning for decades.

She begins the campaign with many of the same assets and liabilities as when she ran for president eight years ago. As then, it's hard to say which set is more striking.

Is it the assets — her fundraising ability, her vast network of friends and supporters, her extensive résumé, her peerless name recognition?

Or is it the liabilities — her aversion for the push and pull of retail politics, her entrenched cadre of critics, her reputation for calculation, her peerless name recognition?

so i guess im just trying to get a conversation going about this does anyone have any thoughts or facts or anything to say about this?
NOTE: DO NOT POST ANYTHING OFFENSIVE OR ARROGENT , OPEN MINDED PEACFUL PEOPLE ONLY PLEASE AND THANK YOU!

>>9 *facepalm* Faux...Faux News...as in "Fox News"?

Anyway, posting a link that wasn't a link to the original article is being dishonest, but this isn't college so i won't give you a smack on the wrist for plagiarism. However, I did try to find your mysterious missing article by assuming this thread was mostly copy/paste (and the top article results were even worse than Fox News in my opinion). Do these look familiar?

2. check before you make a new thread. we did make a politics post you could post there

Anyone but Trump, who has made his official announcement to run.
Although, his cheddar might help w/ the national deficit, as well as overall spending trends. Hell, he might might even help w/ our national debt. Y' know what? Screw it! VOTE TRUMP!

woman president!

Listen.

I want a female president too.

But- you see- I want a good female president. One that pigs in male clothing can't say "Well, THIS is what happens when you let a woman take office. That's why they shouldn't drive or ever leave the kitchen."

Ya know? One that all men can respect and see each other eye to eye.

For example, on one hand, Obama being the first black president was a milestone for all minorities; it was something we didn't previously think could happen. Hence why "Yes We Can!" was the rally cry.
But on the other hand, if he sagged his pants and used slang everywhere, the country's response would be, well, even more racist than it already was.

Which reminds me, if Hilary actually becomes elected...the world will see an entirely different negative side of America. The blatant amount of racism in America that's gotten attention worldwide will then be replaced with sexism.

also fuck Hillary.

Sanders '16.

>>28 Those things that they say that make them "jokes" as you say are to win over extremists, because believe it or not (no matter how stupid it sounds) some people actually believe the shit that they say. People believe gays are terrorists and that everyone from the middle east are terrorists.

I know, it sounds utterly retarded, but many republicans don't have brains. Like red necks. Every redneck should wear a shirt that says, "I'm poor and I want the government to tax me more and big business less!" Because that's essentially what they're saying. Then someone should give them a sign that says, "I'm an idiot".

And by redneck, I don't mean southerners that like to hunt. I mean the idiots who live in trailers and STILL vote for the people who want to tax the poor up the ass.

Because redneck is apparently a derogatory term that people hold pride in when it doesn't fit them. For some odd reason...

So, how do you feel about a socialist America? I've heard the socialist candidate Bernie Sanders is starting to gain ground, and from certain comments I've seen, some people here just love that idea. I don't; I just wanna hear comments.

31 Name: Blank : 2015-06-22 12:41 ID:Idy7cjxw [Del]

im not really into Sanders because i feel like socialism is just another word for communism and a way for the government to control how we live because that's basically what it is...to be honest it feels like everyone running for president is unfit in one way or another. lately i feel like it would be easier if Obama could be president again.

>>31 , Blank , Socialism is related to communism( which I think it what you are thinking about ) .Communism can be good ,but not if it goes all the way.Same with capitalism .You need to strike a balance between everyone for themselves and everyone on the same level.Being communist , does not automatically mean ,Soviet Union gulags everywhere. You can run a good communist( or socialist ) country.
And also , I want Obama for another term too.
>>30 Bernie Sanders is a good guy.
He is the only person running for president that has not voted against LGBQT rights.
He ( unlike some others ) Will deal with the global Climate change instead of trying to shy away from it .
He also supports equal rights for women in the work place. He also belives that it is the woman's choice to get an abortion
He is also looking forward to lowering the student's depts for post secondary education.
"Under the College for All Act, $70 billion a year in assistance – two-thirds from the federal government and one-third from states – would replace what public colleges and universities now charge in tuition and fees. The federal share of the cost would be offset by imposing a tax on Wall Street transactions by investment houses, hedge funds and other speculators. "

Bernie explains social Security:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAcv7g3O_iM

He is also going to raise the minimum wage to 15$ ( the living cost might go up , but is a good step forward on the fact that America has one of the highest percentages of slums and people living under the poverty level in any developed country . )

Bernie also wants to stop unjustified police arrest , by promoting the concept of video cameras on police .
Bernie promises to raise wages for guest workers and to loosen up the borders between America and Mexico, hopefully , giving those refugees a legal path into the country .
He also :
“Oppose tying immigration reform to the building of a border fence. Undocumented workers come to the United States to escape economic hardship and political persecution. Tying reform to unrealistic and unwise border patrol proposals renders the promise illusory for millions seeking legal status"
And….
“Authorize and substantially increase funding for the Legal Services Corporation to provide legal representation to guest workers who have been abused by their employers. Further, employers should be required to reimburse guest workers for housing, transportation expenses and workers’ compensation.”

>>26 You stole the words straight from my mouth . Please don't blindly vote for her just because she is a woman . Look at her like a person .

Seriously , voting for someone only , and solely because she is a woman is sexist.Towards both men and women.Being sexist means to make an assumption or have prejudice
about someone based only on their sex. This is exactly it.This is saying that, she is a woman , so of course all women will be a good president , regardless of their policies .No , look at what she is saying , look at what her promises are.Look at her like a person .That's now true equality is.Looking at people not as a label.Being a woman doesn't make you a better person and is doesn't make you any worse. Being a woman...just means you are a person. Treat them like such . :)

Please if I have made a mess up , or biased point on this post , or something that is off an unreliable source , do tell me . I also think there is another thread about the same topic.

Bernie sanders will make a better president then Clinton, Bernie all the way!!

34 Name: Sandman the Endless : 2015-10-22 11:59 ID:U12LuDBA [Del]

I do think that it is news that Clinton will win the primary (according to the polls). The closest contender is Sanders, whom has nearly half as many supporters as Clinton. If Trump wins the Republican primary,he is currently in the lead with 28%, Clinton is favoured to win.

>>32 There's a small problem with the minimum wage thing. Raising the minimum wage by more than double can cause serious problems. This may cause companies to start firing unneeded people. For example, a McDonald's restaurant usually (at least from the restaurants I've been to) has human waiters (or what ever you call it). However, with a huge jump in wage, they could fire all of them and instead, replace them with self-serve kiosks. In addition, entrepreneurs that are barely hanging on to their businesses may end up filing for bankruptcy.

In addition, people aspire to become business owners, and doing so can increase the chance of bankruptcy and can intimidate them from going into the business field. Just imagine America without any new businesses. You'll continue to see progress of those extremely huge conglomerates but you won't see any growth in the small businesses. America is the "land of opportunity." It should not intimidate doors for later generations.

Wow, I feel like I'm getting off topic. I kinda am considering entering the business field.

But anyways, in my opinion, higher wage with the same amount of money=less employees=higher unemployment.

Feel free to refute my argument. I'd be happy to change my opinion if I find that raising wages beneficial.

P.S. Politics truly is a messy topic, eh?
