Middle Eastern Governments May Be Actively Supporting ISIS (13)

I still need to do some more research on this, but supposedly, various Middle Eastern nations including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar (and even Israel, though I highly doubt this one) are supposedly actively supporting fighters from the Islamic State through providing medical treatment, funds, and supplies.

The Reddit thread that made me aware of these rumors:

https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/37pf3d/video_footage_showing_trucks_belonging_to_turkeys/?sort=confidence

Unfortunately, I don't know much about the modern Middle East or the possible motivations for this. I know that, in Turkey, the government ordered investigations and (I think) arrests of various reporters who brought supposed assistance to ISIS to light, and has supposedly forcibly taken down several articles on the subject. The main motivations I can think of for Turkey to support ISIS is to finally rid Syria of Assad and to wear down (and ultimately destroy) the Kurdish factions currently fighting ISIS - I imagine Ankara might be afraid that the Kurds, once ISIS is finally chopped into a thousand little pieces and fed to the hounds, will use their recent military strength and international acclaim to ride a wave of Kurdish nationalism and UN gratitude to creating an official, sovereign Kurdistan, taking large bites out of Turkey, among other states.

What are everyone's thoughts on this? Credibility, implications, possible ways it could develop?

I think that, unfortunately, since Turkey is a NATO ally needed to place pressure on Russia and its warm water ports along the Black Sea (because Bosporus), much of the Western world (that is, US and NATO) will probably sweep it under the rug (even if it's proven beyond doubt), at least for the time being. Maybe if Russia and a good chunk of the Middle East are sedated in the near future the powers that be will properly investigate and punish those responsible for drawing out such a brutal, awful conflict.

>>1 The guide for this board states that you must provide a credible source such as an article.

A /rumor/ doesnt belong here. Belongs in the Conspiracy thread, but not the News Board.

Is there even a general conspiracy thread?

>>4 OP seemed to have made a post that was more speculation than an article summary or proven facts. The article is mainly speaking of Turkey, so I would think if you speak of other Middle Eastern Governments or possible motovations behind aiding ISIS, you'd want to provide another article for that. So yes, I saged it.

Anyway, at first, I thought the link above was only to you to a Reddit page article, but the page holds another link: http://www.naharnet.com/stories/en/180421
You guys should read the comments on this article too...because they're a bit strange.
I'm getting too tired to manage this board. I'll leave this up to mods whether or not to permasage.

>>5 I think the beauty of the sage button is that you can literally sage anything for whatever reason. It gives a sense of freedom and to a lesser extent it gives each user a voice, which is something I'm all about.
Sage away, Maggie, sage away.

The comments on that article are a bit strange...did you check out the document I linked to? It's an interesting read.

That's kind of what they are for...so that's good. ;D

Nothing is new, that has been their diplomatic weapon for many years.

"If you don't make ..., we'll not do that that could stop this group, or we'll send you some terrorists."

Firstly i would like to applaud you on realizing a simple truth, that America as well as the aforementioned countries are actively supporting IS. Think about it, the US could easily destroy IS, seeing as they have no air force and america has the biggest in the world. for reasons religious, political, and economical. if you would like to learn more join the conspiracy chatroom on drrr chat.
