On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, Houston Fire-Department responded to a two-alarm fire in the parking facility of the 601 Travis building and the JPMorgan Chase Tower.

The blaze was said to have been ignited around 3:30 p.m. and ended at 4:20 p.m. Fire fighters are still working on clearing the smoke in the downtown area, but the smell of burning rubber remains in the area.

Workers and onlookers from downtown Houston have said that they saw flames flapping about from the parking garage. It is believed that there are no fatalities or injuries from the fire from Tuesday afternoon, but multiple cars have been inflicted and has sustained serious damage.

The Houston Fire-Department has not, at this time, granted access to the garage for the companies and it's employees to access their vehicles. It is said as soon as the smoke is cleared, the HFD will verify the public to have access to the garage once more.

The MetroRail Service has been shutdown and was suspended due to the fire. Nine metro buses have been routed to the area to continue the flow of travel.

More information to come as the story develops.
