This thread is about the growing tragedy of the migrants trying to cross Mediterranean sea to the European Union. That long-running issue hit the headlines on the past few days.

The EU ministers even met on an emergency summit, on April the 19th, 2015 to discuss that question.[0]

Recently, from April, the 10th to the 17th, in six days only, roughly 10 000 immigrants reached Italy by boat, while 950 died [1]. On capsizing boat left 400 dead alone.[2]

So, as of April the 17th, the death toll was of 900 since the beginning of 2015.[1]

Then, on April the 18th, 15 Muslim immigrants were arrested over murder charge for throwing overboard 12 Christians during the crossing of the sea. [3]

And on the following day, on the 19th, a fishing trawler carrying 950 migrants capsized off the Libyan coasts. 24 people were rescued according to the Italian authorities.[4]

That mean more than 1500 migrants have perished since the beginning of the years in the Mediterranean sea. [0]

I even forgot to say that the most migrants flee the war, ISIS, ... and much more than the poverty that make them usually move.
