Apparently the LGBT+ community is waging "jihad" against Christians... According to Ted Cruz (35)

1 Name: Leigha Moscove !9tSeSkSEz2 : 2015-04-12 00:47 ID:xZY/6d2Y [Del]

Way to go, man. Way to fucking go.

Here's the link.

For those that don't know, Ted Cruz is one of the two Texas Senators (both of republican, of course), AND HE'S RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT IN THE US.

So, to get more votes in the republican primaries, he's accusing the LGBT community of waging jihad (a muslim word for war) against the "the people of faith that respect the biblical teaching that marriage is the union of one man and one woman" in Indiana and Arkansas.

Basically, he think that the LGBT+ community is waging a muslim war against Christians in Arkansas and Indiana. He's using the problems with muslim extremist groups to bash gays and get more votes in the primaries.

Yup. Future president material right there! Who wouldn't vote for him? (sarcasm) Way to go Texas. Way to fucking go. HE'S YOUR REPRESENTATIVE!

So basically, he's fighting for "religious freedom" by accusing LGBT-whatever people of waging a holy war.
Oh, and Islamic term because nobody likes Muslims.

Makes sense.

>>1 I don't know why you're surprised he's their rep.
Isn't this how we've always thought of Texas? I think he suits them quite nicely.
If there was a Hetalia character for each American state, Ted Cruz would be Texas.

As a Texan, I'm sorry for this man

Not even most Texans stand behind Ted Cruz. How he got to power and stayed there is beyond us tbh.

Then again, I talk to other teenagers who at least aren't as brainwashed as the older, voting population. Still.

using islamic terms so that people would hate muslims even more.. make sense

I feel like the U.S is waking up a bit and pulling away from 'republican' thinking (anti-gay etc). If the U.S is thinking straight(no pun intended) he won't be president.
Misleading the public like this should - and is I think - illegal. Also (taken from Wikipeadia):
' Separation of church and state is a phrase used by Thomas Jefferson (and others) in expressing an understanding of the intent and function of the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. '
I think if he was going into American politics, especially if he intends to become president, then he should have a good knowledge of the Declaration of Independence.
(Please excuse me if I had anything wrong I'm not American)

>>9 I think you're right about the change in America, and you're definitely right about the separation of church and state.

Still, nothing is over yet, there is a chance that he'll make it pretty far into the election if he manages to get an in with whatever is left of the right-wing extremest. Personally though, I don't think he'll make it as president- at least, I certainly hope not. Well, I'll be old enough to vote, and there's no way I'm voting for him, ugh.

11 Name: Leigha Moscove !9tSeSkSEz2 : 2015-04-13 20:18 ID:OTby12lH [Del]

>>9 Separation of church and state is a real thing. HOWEVER! That only means that you can't force people to be a religion. Actually, it never really expresses anywhere in the constitution or amendments that there's a separation of church and state. All it says is "freedom of religion". The separation of church and state it an interpretation by the judicial branch. Still, that doesn't mean that it's not legit, only that the judicial branch can change that. Because that's part of their job, interpreting laws.

Now, back on topic. Separation of church and state only means you can't force your religion on the people. So, that's why "under God" was removed from the pledge. That's why you can't teach religion in a publicly funded school. Basically, tax payer dollars can't go to any religion, and the government can't appear to support any religion.

HOWEVER! A politician may use their moral standards to influence the government, and they get their moral standards from their religion.

Simply put, he can say, "I believe in this" if it's a personal opinion, but he can't say, "I want this law passed because it's the will of god" or anything similar. So, if he's Christian, he can say that being gay is morally wrong in his point of view. However, since most of the american population is central (slightly conservative), it's not a good way to go. Especially because the swing state that counts the most (Florida) is split 50/50. You really want those vote.

OH! And Hillary Clinton is running! I don't like her either, but if it came down to those two, she's the lesser of the two evils.

In short, if I could, I'd get out of America if it came down to these two. Something like that CANNOT be good, and it really makes us look bad.

I'll start by apologizing to all the Texans on here. Now I'll say what's on my mind. Way to fuck shit up, Texas. You keep getting these fucking in a position to rule this country because you'll vote for anyone that's a republican. No, seriously. Someone could go up there and say they were a terrorist, and still fucking win.

Not that Texas is the only fucked up state (looks at Mitt Romney and Massachusetts). I think I want to move to Canada. At least there it's not legal to be an asshole (looks at KKK, Westboro, and other such groups).

Again, I'm not blaming the Dollars from Texas. I'm only blaming Texas as a whole (or the majority that keeps letting this bullshit happen).

>>11 Yeah, you're right, I was a little off before, but this basically covers the separation of church and state bit.
Considering how much has changed in the past few years I don't think too many people will agree with him, but I still hope he doesn't gaint oo much influence.

Let me get this straight. Cruz is saying that the LGBT community is a bunch of jihadists waging "holy war" against Christianinty? In Indiana and Arkansas? He's full of crap. I'm from Indiana and what he's saying ain't true at all. He's just looking for an excuse to bash the LGBT community along with Muslims/Islamics.

As always religion is in the center of all this. If he becomes president...yeah it won't be good for America. He believes that marriage is between man and woman only and he cleary doesn't care too much for Muslims/Islamics and he wants people to see it this way. Just cause he believes such idiotic ideas doesn't mean he has to press them on us. Unfortunately, as long as he's careful with wording he can say the load of bull he just spouted as much as he wants. I hope Cruz doesn't come to power because just knowing he's trying to be president is a disturbing thought.

By the way, you can't have it muslim word. Muslim isn't a language. And unlike what the media says Jihad means to struggle. In Islam the greatest jihad is struggling against your desires. The lesser jihad is war but can only be defense and final option. To even start jihad has lots of conditions, that's to stop pointless violence. Even on jihad you cannot kil anyone unless they are a soldier, fighter, whatever. You can never kill an innocent, prisoner of war. You can't cut down tree or damage the wildlife in any way. You can't destroy an places of importance, like libraries, churches/synagogues/temple/etc.
Living your life peacefully counts as jihad. Caring for your parents is jihad. Jihad is overcoming struggles God has placed for you. It is not the word for war.

Just like Charlie Hebdo...
Actually, this is NOTHING like Charlie Hebdo.

The artists were cartoonists; it's their job to mock.

But when you've been asking the people of a country to treat you with respect, and for society to see you as equals for decades, the very last thing you do is make a mockery of the country's primary religion...

The Republic of Ireland voted yes to gay marriage and the U.S. Supreme Court voted yes when 6 out of 9 are Catholic and the other 3 are Jewish.

This is a message for stupid people:

First, I'm going to talk about racists. You hate muslims? Why?
Because EVERYONE says they are terrorists? Wow that's a really nice and SMART reason yeah. NO IT ISN'T.

FIRST OF ALL, IF SOMEONE SAYS MUSLIMS OR ANY OTHER RELIGION ARE TERRORISTS, ITS NOT TRUE. I THINK IT'S REALLY STUPID TO SAY MUSLIMS ARE TERRORISTS. WHAT IF NOW I GO AND SAY ON THE NEWS 'all Christians are terrorist. Now hate them!' DOES IT MEAN ITS TRUE? NO. STOP HATING PEOPLE FOR THEIR RELIGION AND STOP HATING RELIGIONS.

MUSLIMS AREN'T TERRORISTS. THAT'S ALL YOU IDIOTS NEED TO KNOW.
NOW SOMEONE WILL COME AND SAY 'eh no sir, the muslims did the 911' NO THEY DIDNT YOU STUPIDS. ITS NOT THE MUSLIMS WHO DID THE 911.

ok sorry for getting mad XD.
All I want to say is Don't hate religions.

Accept people and stop believe in what the news or anyone else says about someone, a group of people or a Religion. It's not hard to understand..

Thanks for reading.

just to start with, jihad , means to fight back , not war.

Jihad means is almost the same meaning as hard work , doing something with passion in a better way by peace and tranquility.

Doesn't change the fact that my boyfriend was almost killed in a gay bashing and the bullies got away with a slap on the wrist in comparison... (Just saying)

>>30 you're quite right, I just find it so sad that people use the term jihad only for 'war' and 'violence' when in fact it can be doing something that you find difficult. If you decide you're determined to study a course to help someone in need then its also called jihad which doesnt mean fucking guns explosions random bloodshed and other violent shit.
