ISIS (59)

1 Name: M1n : 2014-10-02 17:21 ID:kiE2t6Ug [Del]

As we know should know, ISIS (the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria) is an extreme terrorist group in the Middle East that is gaining more and more power. They are a threat to the whole world. They have taken control of Iraq and Syria and has driven more than 1.2 million Iraqis out of their homes. They have threatened to attack the French, British, and the USA. They've already beheaded two American journalists and posted a video online. Obama has already issued air attacks against this group.

And I want to hear your opinions. Should the US join the war against ISIS or not? (I've already done a full-scale debate on this so I probably have heard all there is to know but still , just interested)

2 Name: Shamrockχ : 2014-10-02 18:24 ID:mfwexD9+ [Del]

I don't think you understand what the options are. You either fight the war, or you go down WITHOUT swinging, or even trying to save anyone. This isn't a matter of agreement.

3 Name: Shamrockχ : 2014-10-02 18:26 ID:mfwexD9+ [Del]

Unless you've got the means to run. In which case, it is a little disappointing, but I'd be glad you at least TRIED to get away.

As far as I know, the Europeans have formed a coalition intent on battling the Islamic State. The Kurds of Turkey are flocking across the Syrian border to support their cousins in resistance of the extremists. Rumour has it that the Americans are sending guns and ammunition, but not any vehicles or super-heavy weaponry, to aid the Kurdish people in combat. Couple days ago, even Erdogan declared that's it's getting sick and tired of the mayhem going on in the region, announcing plans to get involved beyond it's current role of helping the refugees -- despite Assad's threats of zero-tolerance against anyone fighting on Syrian land (lol).

Iran too is expressed interest in jumping into the fray, although the US government continues to treat the Persians rather snottily -- like a spoiled brat trying to excommunicate the misunderstood foreign kid from the playground, 'cause he hates anyone that dislikes his pal: the belligerent Israeli guy with a chip on his shoulder. However, for the first time in decades, the British and Iranian government are actually communicating civilly with one another; it'll be interesting to see how the latter cooperates with the rest of Europe in lieu of this development.

Let's just hope that the Syrian rebels (fighting Assad) can hold their ground while the rest of the world coordinates something resembling a plan.

>>2 Ahh no I understand xD that was just the debate question our teacher gave us. The real one was whether America should lead the coalition against isis (like what >>4 said) or just take a seat back(and still sent help of course but not that much) and let someone else take control. Meaning they'd be the ones leading the attacks, and spending more money and troops.

6 Name: M1n : 2014-10-03 22:04 ID:zUhPKqVx [Del]

Haha well yes. The whole thing is chaos .

Rebels are running around wild.
Ass-ad is desperately clinging on to his throne.
ISIS wants to be the next Hitler and start a Christain homocide.
Israel doesn't even care.
Americas trying to meddle as much as possible (as usual). (The air strikes they sent have actually killed many many innocent civilians rather than the militants).

And Britain's crying under their blankets.

>>4 ISIS has threatened the attack all members of that coalition.
America has been sending weapons to the rebels to aid them in overthrowing Assad and fighting ISIS (like that's going to work). Obama himself said that America doesn't even have a strategy on how to fight this group.

7 Name: Shizo-chan : 2014-10-03 22:52 ID:NfedLR8A [Del]

America should honestly fight in this war because for one thing they already killed two Americans ant also last time america sat back and let someone else take over ( the holocaust ) over six million people died before anything was done

I'm pretty sure the power house countries will all get involved, and the moment all of them do, ISIS will be wiped out fairly easily. America is still the strongest world power even in our current state.

>>12 You should have said that to Bush! Apparently, he was doing it wrong during the Iraq war, because that shit lasted forever.

14 Name: what a joke : 2014-10-06 04:48 ID:lTRR9r3t [Del]

The US govt is responsible for most of the world's problem so stfu with this whole ISIS shit being the world's biggest threat when they're not. Russia and the US have about 15k of nuclear weapons which way enough to blow up this entire world.

15 Name: Anonymous : 2014-10-08 07:56 ID:S5QY2R+L [Del]

>>14
Yeah, but they'll never use them. DO ya know why? Cuz they'll blow up the entire world!

16 Name: TachiRagna : 2014-10-08 11:37 ID:K7OOM5Oc [Del]

well 15 they are perfectly willing to use them when needed besides a nuclear warhead isnt the strongest weapon of all pry and do a little more research

I think we should only attack ISIS if they harm us first. The one problem about America is the fact that we always try to play the hero when we know that we shouldn't be involved, but learn to mind our buisness.

20 Name: Blinking (On her phone) : 2014-10-10 00:27 ID:gkecGzHJ [Del]

>>19 ISIS is actively harming foreigners and making threats towards the US and other countries.

The US will be demonised regardless of the action they choose to take. If they step in they're seen as a troublemaker or warmonger, and if they dont help they'll be called heartless.

21 Name: Anonymous : 2014-10-10 07:31 ID:FgGnjrJ8 [Del]

I think the U.S should personally execute all ISIS leaders and organizers.
Also, all traitors should be hanged publicly.

22 Name: hk : 2014-10-10 10:10 ID:tQ/ImHPL [Del]

It could be a trap that ISIS wants the US to get involved. Besides, it'll all be a war again either way.

I think the US should only participate if we really HAVE to. I understand wanting to help others, but we might need the troops we send to be in America if we are targeted. My uncle is leaving to Iraq I believe on the 19th. As I don't like hearing about this problem because of that reason, I still think that we should focus more on this and other problems that are more tremendous.

27 Name: Hayato : 2014-10-13 09:35 ID:jlbxcNeE [Del]

Probably not war in the sense that many of you are thinking of. A public declaration of war in any form has too much blow-back. With their growing power and resources, publicly making an act of war allows them to make an attack toward our shores whether than entirely focusing on our soldiers. It would probably be wiser to go through with a covert operation to stop ISIS's progress. Keep in mind, I'm only speaking from the limited standpoint of an ordinary citizen.

I like how we are doing absolutely nothing about it though.

37 Name: M1n : 2014-11-20 12:21 ID:bSvsll+C [Del]

The amount of US citizens they've killed are countless now. (Not my words). They've also beheaded many young children just because they're Christian. And in the latest video they've posted, it shows the decapitated head of Peter Kazig , an American citizen. Truly a farce.

I dislike the idea of ISIS. What they are doing, committing is NOT Islam. Not all Muslims are terrorists! They are kind and have a big heart but some are going in the wrong direction! That's why I will not tolerate the idea that all Muslims are terrorists. However the fact that the Islamic state is against the world and who will win is up to God to decide.

We are at war with ISIS OR ISIL whether we want to be or not. The have agents in America and Europe as their own home territories. The real questions is how do we the situation. Or at least how do we handle better then how we currently are now?

43 Name: Mioko44 : 2014-12-01 01:51 ID:SHR4CLJr [Del]

The U.S. needs to handle some of it's own problems before heading off into another war. Ferguson for example. I dont beleive anything that ISIS is doing is good but anything more than support at this time would be the pot calling the kettle black.

Also they have manipulated people's minds on social media trying to make them join their evil cause. We're a social media, we should try to eliminate their sources on the Net and even tell others to see the group as a threat to humanity who doesn't agree with their ways of living so there will be no more people falling to their lies.

The U.S. doesn't have the resources or funds to handle this alone, so the U.S. should seek aid from other countries before doing anything to drastic.
